It's customary when considering the purchase of a GT-R for example to cut to the chase & begin negotiations with the Sales Manager. This ZL1 or a ZR1 should be addressed the same way. Skip the middleman unless you're buying something mundane without the potential for huge markups. In some instances, the sales person on the floor isn't even involved in the deal, unless you drag them into it.

How does that have anything to do with your dealer lying to you?

GM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR DEALER LYING TO YOU.

Once again nothing to do with GM. Take it up with the Government.

You sure know how to spout off. My suggestion is you go to your dealership and talk to whoever it takes. Owner, GM, Sales Manager, Inventory Manager or the lube guy. There are lots of people other than your sales guy Involved in your deal and unless your sales guy is on C5 how would you expect him to know more than you?

You bring a S$&T load of blabber and supposed information to C5 that you claim to trust from your dealer but you can't get real answers you can trust? Why don't you consider getting off line long enough to take care of business. From what you post you have things to deal with. You figured out how to have a full time military engagement, get your BA, get a job making 100k a year, get an Amex Platinum card, become a consultant and ALL OF THAT IN 4 YEArs...... AND YOU CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO BUY A CAR. Give me a break!

To answer your question, no, you can not just work directly with finance. Try to work with the Sales Manager, they are the ones who actually place the orders and are most informed with the order process.

The issues you have do not involve finance. That will be the challenge you face when your car comes in and you need to have enough down and enough income to qualify for a loan on the car.

I agree with a prior informed post that these special vehicle deals are typically handled by the sales manager or inventory manager. They will assess the buyer and make commitments accordingly. If you made the $4000 deposit on credit card then ask them if that has any negative impact on your allocation position. With Amex they know you can back out. In many states dealers are obligated to refund deposits. Your questions are simple for them and you should do them in person with the highest level person that will listen to you. Ask them..... How many allocations do they have, how many have already been commited to GM for stock and or sold orders and what position are you in for any remaining allocations. You claimed to know all this yesterday or when your dealer told you to stop listening to C5 folks and listen to them. What happened to that advice.

Like I suggested in a prior post, if for any reason they do not satisfy your questions at a manager level then take your $4000 and find another dealer.

How to buy a car is very simple.. hence EVERYONE who works at a dealership is a highschool drop out... and this is factual... because i have freinds who work at dealerships all around the area! buying a car is simple... im trying to see if i can get around my salesman and in fact knock him off the deal... that is all im asking... has it ever been done... i know how to buy a car... been working with dealers since i was 18... and yes all new cars.. NEVER have i bought a used car... thats just petty...
