Top Gear USA is all entertainment. It is fun to watch sometimes but I really wish they did legit tests on cars. Some of their ideas are stupid. A good example is when they were testing the cars on the Fontana NASCAR track for top speed. Tanner should've just ran the car and not worry about his stupid airdam that fell off. I was really interested in seeing how fast he could get the Camaro.

cool seeing them compare the cars.

That was a 2011 2SS right? I just caught the last part of the show and saw the black shark fin on the roof.

L99 FTW!

I hate to agree, but I do. The chemistry between the hosts is better on the UK Top Gear. although I will say the US version is getting better in that regard as the series goes on...

Now if Clarkson would just stop tearing into US cars so harshly...

Tanner Faust sucks I wanted to see what the Camaro would do on the track. He should have known that the garden edging wouldn't hold up.

Dont know about the 2SS but the car had standard headlights, definately wasnt an RS. Didnt see how AFM got in the way of smoking the competition on the L99.

Agree...Never meant to be a true test. Entertainment only. They made fun of all the cars.

Fact is, a lot of "Pro testers" don't like the Camaro. Overweight, poor visibility, and most of the time loses to a Mustang. Face it, Ford has tweaked the horse far better than Chevy did with the Camaro.

I agree. Although I don't like the American Top Gear as much, Tanner is the most fitting of the hosts, in my opinion. He's an amazing professional driver, most people don't know that.

Surprised to hear people actually like Tanner - he puts me to sleep. Hearing him give the "play by play" when they have the star in a reasonably priced car is pure torture - it's so boring. Compare Tanner giving a play by play to Clarkson and you'll understand.

That said - I absolutely loved how everyone is dogging the automatic yet everyone knows automatics win races. Was surprised Tanner was even dogging that it was an automatic when he was doing the drag race. Then he even goes on to talk about how they all had more horse but he still won, DUH... automatic... perfectly tuned shifts, going to drive the car better than anyone driving a manual can...

I fell asleep somewhere after the horse race. That was absolutely stupid - adhering to the speed limit, WTF?

But yeah, Top Gear America just needs more time. Everyone knew when it first came out it was not going to compare to Top Gear UK. And it's not like Top Gear UK was a hit from the start, they've had host changes as well - it takes time to get the right crew with the right chemistry with each other. Top Gear UK has it right now and that's why it's no comparison between the two. It's not something that is going to be perfect in only two seasons.

Honestly, they should have at least let the guy run the Camaro on the speedway. Even if he lost on a technicality before he got to speed, SOME OF US may have wanted to see the SS on the speedway.

That pissed me off to no end. Otherwise it was a pretty funny show.

I think some of you are taking it too literally. I don't compare the two shows b/c they are two totally different shows. It would be like comparing Joni loves Chaci to Happy Days. I enjoy Top Gear and watch it religiously. Always good for a laugh. They weren'r baggin on the Camaro, more that they didn't like the paint, the interior or the fact that it was an auto. My car is white and it's auot and I wasn't offended. I think folks are wound way too tightly these days and small stuff is always made into a big deal.

Worry less about little things and don't take it life too seriously b/c you only get one ride, might as well enjoy it folks.
