I'm hearing just "Chevrolet SS."

V8 only. Very low volume.

If its Holden based, it could easily be tested in Australia and would be a fascia swap away from blending in perfectly with its Zeta sedan brethren.

V-8 only? Pssshhh yeah right. Not in this day and age. It would bring the "fleet MPG" down. No, you'd have to offer a v-6 as well.

Hence the super low volume. And I'm talking VERY low volume.

The first MY may just be GM dipping a foot in the water...if the car sells out at higher than expected volumes then they will be forced to add a V6 option for CAFE. Until then, it'll be LS3-only.

Wouldn't a VERY low production defeat the marketing purpose?..

Maybe, maybe not.

Selling a larger number of V6s might hurt CAFE more than selling a small number of V8s.

Also, I imagine that all these cars will be built in Australia, where the exchange rate & shipping cost will require a fairly high price -one which is more easily justified on a V8 car than a V6

I guess our only option is to get rid of CAFE.

That sounds pretty reasonable. Let's do it.

it might have been a limited thing, but the article about Hendrick having one for testing indicated that it was built in Oshawa

He is referring to the race version, which I'm sure was built at Hendrick Motorsports.
