I compare it to buying an American flag made in China.

Disclamer: Canadians make good products and are real nice people.

PS please don't hurt my baby when it comes down the line.

It goes both ways ... I don't even remember which side started it or when, but its been going on for years. For the record, I was in the stands at a Nascar race in Michigan and fans booed the Canadian anthem while I was there. I will say that I'm ashamed that anyone would do that, Canadian or American. Its stupid and disrespectful.

Not so with Mexico though.
Why would you exclude Mexico?? Aren't they part of NA?

Booing must be a Easterner thing. We sing the USA anthem at our Hockey games almost better than O Canada.

We have more in common with California than Ontario.

And If your watching the Playoffs it's not BOO ............It's LOU

I was all gung-ho about our Canadian friends until this started. This is the one (and only) thing that makes it hard to be happy about our babies being built there.

That's weird to hear... in Canada at public events such as airshows and Remembrance Day the US national anthem is always played first and everyone stands with their hands over their heart which they don't even do for the Canadian anthem.

one word globalization

there was a study on this a few years back
where a John Deere had less domestic content then a tractor with a Japanese or Korean brand name on it
it was on 20/20 or something

That is narrow minded thinking. In today's business world, multiple countries are used for design and manufacturing. It's just the way it is nowadays.

Um, wasn't the Camaro designed in Australia? But besides, it's built by GM which is an American company!! Who cares where the plant is!

Yep, Alexander Graham Bell's first phone call was made in Brantford, ON. Most Americans don't know that unfortunately.

I'm Canadian, but I was raised outside Chicago. I never knew where Bell made his first phone call until I returned to Canada for a few years when I was in my 20's! That's when I found out he made it from Canada! But when I went through my childhood school years near Chicago, I was never taught that!

I have an automobile plant in my home town, Lincoln, Alabama. It is a Honda plant and from what I know about it and from talking to friend who work there, they take as much pride in what they do as I pressume any assembly line worker does. While I understand the sentiment of buying American, I do not understand down grading others. It is a real simple thing if you do not, or can not get over the fact that the Camaro is made in Canada then do not buy one, I have only been to Canada once in my life and the people there were just as frendly as the people in my home town and I doo't know for sure but I would be willing to bet that the fine people in Canada take as much pride in their work as we do. Just my humble opinion

I basically see Canada and the US as the same community, different governments. New Orleans would feel more foreign to me than most of Canada. It could be that I found out a few years ago that my family spent a couple generations in Canada on our gradual trek from Ulster to the Midwest.
