Good to hear that I'm in the 1%. And yes the warranty is very important to me. Well that and the fact that the "track" prepped GT500's aren't up to the ZL1.

i post this on other forums. i'll try to find the link.
powdered metal rods are inherently as strong or stronger in many aspects to 4340 connecting rods. what is important is metallurgy and design strength. https://www.forging.org/system/files...ueBehavior.pdf thereis a slide show failure rates of similar design strenth forged and sinter forged rods. fstigue is the primary advantage of 4340 forged. note slide 101 and later test charts. page 231 is the conclusion. here is a 2009 new material paper on improved powder forged rods. these are superior in most categories. http://www.hoganas.com/Documents/Pub...Warzel_Rev.pdf Lee et al showed new forged materials with yield strength in the 760-840 MPa (110,000 – 122,000 psi) range depending on the thermal history 3. These figures should be compared to conventional micro alloyed steel were the yield strength is in the range 520-560 MPa (75,000 – 81,000 psi). The authors claim an improvement in machinability while maintaining fracture split capability. These differences are reflected in the fatigue strength that reaches 450 (65,000 psi) and 350 MPa (51,000 psi) for the improved and conventional steels respectively.

How much boost is this creating? I either missed it or it wasn't said.

head porting is a waste of time and money on a supercharged engine

Anyone who cares about powertrain warranty should not mod. Its pretty simple. I hear a lot of wining about losing a warranty, the answer is simple. Don't mod then. I could give a rats a$$ about warranty, so the mod flood gates are wide open. And, given the choice I would still buy the Camaro over the GT 500 because in my opinion its a way better looking car, and that is something you can't change. Performance (adding hp) is the easiest change a person can make, and the ZL1 chassis is far better than the GT500 anyway, so the choice is easy between the two for me.

Owen has the same list of things in his ZL1 plus cam and fuel pump upgrade. I'll have to check and see.
