First choice was a Lexus CT Hybrid, the day I went to Durham for my test drive the remains of Tropical Storm Emily had hit knocking power out to most of the area. That was a sign that I really didn't need to test drive it.
Then I looked at the Challenger, didn't like the way it drove, couldn't drive the Mustang due to the lack of telescopic wheel and finally drove the Camaro Labor Day weekend last year. 3 hours later I was taking her home.

I really was not looking for a car. I had asked my boss for a raise. He countered with a offer of a demo. I said I was happy with my 1995 Fleetwood I was getting just over 20 MPG with it. I could stretch it to almost 500 miles per tankfull. I get one full tank of gas a week from work, it was cheaper for him to get me a Camaro with a smaller gas tank. I had to put some $$$ in to get the Vert though.
Loving every minute of it. |

When I first saw the 2006 Camaro concept, instant attraction. When new Camaro's where introduced loved the Camaro style but already had two cars I was happy with. 2010 was was the year I was seriously looking for a 1963 T-Bird conv. (or 1966 T-Bird conv.). But I already had one summer only auto and for sentimental reasons could not sell. Buying a 1963 T-Bird convertible would be a very expensive garage queen and decided I should have a daily driver. After I decided to buy a daily driver, Camaro was my only choice (briefly considered a Mustang glass roof and Mercedes E coupe but I loved the Camaro body style).
My dream is still to own a 1963 or 1966 T-Bird convertible but will keep my 2011 Camaro as my daily driver. |

When I started looking for a newer car the Camaro was still only in the concept phase. The wife and I both wanted a manual car for the fun factor. We initially looked at 4 door sedans since we have 3 kids. Only options were things like BMW 5 series, Infinity, Acura TLS (which I really considered...even found one). Still, none of them really felt like it was the right one.
About 4 mths into the search GM released the Camaro and I found out I could get a new 2LT with a manual trans and RS pkg for about $28k. At the time that was my price range...$25k - $28k. In addition we've always been a Camaro familly over say a Corvette. I've had my '69 since I was 16 yrs old. The wife agreed that the Camaro was the way to go but she really didn't think it was a good idea to go V6 because she knew what having a V8 muscle car was like. She knew we would never be happy with a V6 even if it cost a little more. So, who was I to argue. I orderd a 2SS around October '09 and took delivery in Feb '10. The only thing I might have liked would have been HUD if it was available but not enough to spend the money and to rip apart my dash to add it afterwards. I would've also liked the backup camera in the rearview mirror. I'll probably add that eventually from Ofer.

Camaro was my second choice. Mustang was first, but the dealer was a greedy SOB, so Chevy got my money.

I was within 1200$ on closing a deal on an 11' CTSV, but the dealer would not budge on my trade in so I went to STINGRAY CHEVY and they hooked me up nice so Camaro it is

I was thinking about trading in my Envoy for the new Tahoe... but then I came to my senses and decided to keep the Envoy and buy a muscle car. I was originally looking at Mustangs. I had a decent price for a '12 5.0... but there was nothing about the Mustang that grabbed me. When I went to the Chevy dealership, the '12 Camaro SS made me drool, so my mind was made up right then. I did my homework, laid out exactly what I wanted and had a local dealership search for it. Too bad they didn't want to deal on it... I traveled over 300 miles to get it. And I'm dayum proud!

Since the 5th Gen was announced, it was always the Camaro. Loved the look since the concept!
