Dude. You don't touch a car like that."

Well. Shortly afterward i got freaked out. So I'm driving and a lady (I use the term loosely; she looked like a crackhead, literally) pulled out in front of me in a beat up old Explorer. I had to hit the brakes to avoid hitting her. She proceeded to drive ten mph under the speed limit so when I had an opportunity I passed her and went on my way. I didn't tailgate her at any time. Well about five miles down the road I see she is tailgating me like crazy. I pull into a station to put air in the tires and she follows me in. I circled the station twice, driving around back, trying to find the air machine and a parking spot. She follows right on my tail. She is glaring at me and making obscene gestures (I see this through the rearview).

So I am a little nervous and I leave the station without stopping. She follows me onto the interstate. She is still flipping me off and riding my tail, swerving to try to get alongside me. People were honking at her. I started to speed to get away from her, and she proceeded to get up over ninety mph, catch up to me and then tried to run me off the road! at this point I got my .380 out of my bag, loaded a clip, and set it in the passenger seat.

I'm terrified at this point so I called the cops on her, then sped up and wove through traffic (this little V6 will go!) and finally took an exit at the last second and lost her. Until I started evasive maneuvers she was right on my tail like she was going to rear end me.

It was really scary. Has anyone ever had an experience like this? How did you handle it? I still don't know what on earth could have set her off.
......... would like to see the police report on this

Also I did not "flash" the gun. She never saw it. It was there for me, not to "scare" anyone else.

...And when I said loaded a clip, I meant inserted the clip into the gun. Every magazine I own is loaded and today was no exception. I was taught all about firearms from a young age... You know what they say: guns don't kill people. Dads with pretty daughters do. Mine taught me well.
It's a magazine!!

Yikes, that is freaky... Glad you're okay! I have to admit, driving to the police station is a great idea. I probably wouldn't thought of it in the heat of the moment, though. Glad you're armed, though. I keep my Glock in my console, loaded and ready to go [with my carry permit on me, of course]. People are INSANE these days. All sane citizens should be armed. Sad, but true. Keep that gun loaded!

Only once has anyone really tried to mess with me in my Camaro.

I was driving home from work at about 3 am on a 55mph road. Cruising at about 63 mph, this jacked up pickup truck comes barreling up on me, so close that I cannot see his headlights.

In a not exactly bright attempt to put some distance between him and I, I take it up a few mph, stays right on my ass. Now, I know the road that I'm on pretty well, I also know that my car would easliy leave him sucking fumes. However this is a pretty well patrolled road, so I pull over to the shoulder thinking that he would just pass and be on his way.

Here's the stupid part. (I fall under the category that PQ put himself in earlier in this thread)

So I pull over. The guy stops in the middle of the road. Now I'm more aggravated than frightened. I also can't get back onto the road to flee. (yeah I'm dumb for pulling over to begin with.)

So what do I do? My stupid ass gets OUT of the car.

Fortunately, I'm a pretty big guy, and I can look kind of intimidating. (If you don't know what a nice guy I am.) The second I stretched out of the car, the guy in the truck speeds off. Guess he didn't want any. Lucky for me, I didn't run into a psycho. Or maybe lucky for him. I'm glad neither of us got to find out.

All said and done, in the future, I will be a little less confrontational. I got lucky, but I've seen and heard of too many people who were much less fortunate.

That's what many of us would do but in most states that is "brandishing a weapon" and illegal. Sucks to be the victim even when defending yourself.

What he said. A clip is what used to come on rounds for a M-1. Or various other rounds. Slid on the ends of the rounds to hold them together, if you put the bullets in it, its a magazine.

I also have a hard time with people calling it a weapon, I dont own any weapons, I own firearms. They are not a weapon until I chose to use them as such. Shoot someone go to court and say I got my weapon out, and see if the jury still loves you.

I know you didnt call it a weapon Belle. Just venting LOL

I read a lot of gun magazines and they use the term weapon on occasion. I think weapon can refer to a variety of things that can hurt someone.

No, it's still a clip with bullets in it. A clip feeds a magazine. A magazine feeds a gun.

Yeah, I didn't want to confront her face to face, at ALL.

I really think she was. Judging by what I saw of her.

The defining difference between clips and magazines is the presence of a feed mechanism in a magazine, typically a spring-loaded follower, which a clip lacks.

Saying clip when you meant magazine is like saying socks when you meant boots.
