Wherever cars are parked at night, there are thieves to check them.

When thieves are mobile they go to the higher income areas for more concentration and quality of loot.

When they aren't mobile they will work whatever area they can walk to.

This is 2012 though, NO one wants your stock stereo.

OP has nothing to do with being in the Ghetto and has everything to do with someone wanting what you have. Same shit that happens in certain L.A neighborhoods Could happen in the Hills.
There just happens to be more people who can't have what you have in the ghetto....

The crime stats in my city are less murders this year, but more assaults and rapes.

I probably wouldn't report it if someone broke into my car, been there done that, went to court and watched the prosecutor drop the charges.

That thief owed me a window and an Alpine head unit he broke trying to steal it.

Crime does have an address, im pretty sure they don't have monthly shootings and drive-bys in "The hills".. Just saying.

Actually crimes like auto theft and burglary tend to happen in more affluent neighborhoods. Why? For one more people have a false sense of security and leave their car keys in their vehicle with the doors unlocked or with their purse on the front seat, or an ipod/iphone in plain view, or forget to set their house alarm because they were just going to run a few errands. Most criminals know this so they stalk neighborhoods outside of the "ghetto". That's my take on it from being a law enforcement officer (7 years so far) and having taken more burglary and auto theft reports (literally hundreds combined) than I can remember. More violent (shootings, stabbings) crimes are what you get in the "ghetto". My point. If your neighborhood is outside of the "ghetto" (which I think you were implying) then sir I think it's highly possible you would be surprised to find your car gone in the morning. Just saying.

I didn't even see this before I posted but you are exactly right. At least in Baton Rouge we have the stats to back this up. Truth is certain types of crimes happen in certain areas more often than others.

I knew my Space Shuttle senses were tingling. And no, I highly doubt that's try considering the roads that Space Shuttle Endeavour took through LA during the past three days were closed before it even got close and was checked over. A Camaro couldn't have just appeared.

And if it was there, then it was moved way before Endeavour got close. Which would've been sometime last week.
