SummoneR, sorry to hear about all this crap JLS is putting you through. I had called them a couple of months ago when I was up visiting family and was desperate to see a V8 and they had 2. Talked to Tammy on the phone and when I asked whether they were selling at MSRP. She said yes but they had some dealer options and tried to talk them up. Basically I knew it was all major BS mark-up stuff that only people who don't know any better would pay major money for. So I didn't even bother driving the 20 minutes of the road. Good thing as they sold both for a substantial amount over MSRP plus "dealer add-ons". One of the buyers has actually posted on this forum and hopefully he knew this stuff was BS but either didn't care or could just afford to pay whatever to drive it away that day.

In regards to Boardwalk in Redwood City. I hope they aren't shooting themselves in the foot and losing potential orders by estimating delivery too far out. I know another member here cancelled his order from Putnam in Burlingame (another stealership who is actually worse than JLS -- long story you can find here by member Savings41). He then placed an order w/Boardwalk in May and his vehicle showed up on the VIN tracked on 6/11 and is due in any day as well as another 2SS that was ordered after his 1LT. But I appreciate their honesty in not trying to lead people into believing they will have a car in just a two to three weeks like others who just want the sale.

Hope your order processes through quickly w/the Novato dealership and you are cruising your ride soon.

ParklandTracy is Tracy Hoffer of Parkland Chevrolet in Puyallup, WA. He is a total crook. Tracy - you tell him "you make me sick"? Well YOU, sir, make ME sick for trying to come to these threads like you somehow know anything about anything. Your dealership is run by crooks so they've taught you to be one. No one is happy to pay anything more than what they should. You're in an industry that overcharges and rips people off and you know it so leave the REAL working man alone who doesn't want to deal with BS charges. Kick rocks.

HA! So ParklandTracy is a price gouging dealer??? Wow that is really ballsy to come on here and tell people "you make me sick" cause we don't want to pay 10,000 dollar markups on vehicles cause of supply and demand.... and don't let your wallet stand in the way of owning the coolest car???? WTF is this guy smoking????

I have a few questions for him:

1. When your car depreciates when you drive it off the lot does it depreciate from the MSRP or from the overvalued price that you charged? Meaning if I buy a car from you at close to 50K with TTL for a fully loaded 2SS/RS and my brother buys one from an honest dealer for roughly 39K with TTL is my car worth 11K more than his when I decide to sell????

2. Someone on the phone with summoner (in fact the GM at John L Sullivan Chevy) used the argument of the dealer installed options adding value to the vehicle whereas a "dealer markup" is just that a markup that doesn't add value. Well while that is true to a degree I cannot recall a buyer I had lined up to buy a vehicle of mine used or anywhere on Kelly Blue Book asking me if I had a clear bra, window tinting, paint protection, or a car cover... These 4 things totalled up to 4100 by JLS calculations. So how are these things adding value to my car if I cannot recoup at least some costs when I sell?

For example: I'll use my house as an example. I installed 15,000 dollars in hardwood floors in my house as well as granite countertops for 6,000. Well when I sell my house can sell for at least 21K more than the house next door with identical square footage and without hardwood floors and granite. That is ADDING VALUE. not paying 4100 more for supposed "options" that do not allow me to recieve a higher price when selling. Unless you have another explanation. Nobody that I know is going to pay me any extra for a 1500 dollar wax job I got on my camaro 4 years earlier...

3. Others that I know that have ordered vehicles from other dealerships (one was a Jeep) said that when the vehicle is ordered that the dealership is merely a middleman. Said that the jeep was ordered and built for John Q Doe for example from the factory. Not "this jeep was built for Bubba Gump Jeep" and then delivered and sold to John. He told me that financing was already approved for 6 months, order was taken, vehicle was built and vehicle was delivered to dealership for pickup. Price was determined before ordering and purchase contract was signed at the time of order. I think this way of doing business is obviously the way to go about ordering a camaro if you don't want to get screwed. Unfortunately most GM dealerships are not doing this in order to swindle the customers or apply high pressure tactics once vehicle arrives when the new "owner" is in a precarious position. Seems very "slimeball" to me considering the financial position GM is in.

AMEN BROTHA!!
I laughed when he said added value... I pay >4 k for <1k worth of stuff... Which when resold you get pennies on the dollar? at the 1K price, so fractions of a penny on the 4k price, yeah okay I'll take it!!
Moron! If I was talking to him in person I would have bit#hed slapped him for being so ignorant.

Ok- I know this may be a little off topic, but I didn't happen to see this in any other threads and would take all day to search the entire catalog of them. I was wondering if any of you know how to calculate the dealer fee when buying your Camaro? For the most part I am pretty sure my math is right in regards to financing. I live in Florida if this makes a difference, and i'll be trading a car along with providing a down payment. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Again, sorry if this is off topic...!

yo, for summoner and all the others dealing with the shitty dealers, we should get ahold of a pos 90's mustang throw a clear bra on it, tint it, wax it, and get a car cover for it, then bring it to jon sullivan's dealership and A. stick it up his ass, and B. tell him the same bullshit he told you, the cars worth this much but we added value, so that mustang should be worth right around car=0$ + upgrades = $4000! lol, and yo any other dealers wanna say some shit, i got connects with the BBB(better business bureau) i see shit on websites all the time like major ****ed up pricing (for instance, there was a ford on a chevy lot, online the like new f-150 listed at $75, i called and said you guys honor your price? oh yea sure, what you talkin bout, then i told them, they hung up on me, lol, shoulda recorded them, dammit!) all just jokes but man im sorry that some a**holes can turn a gloriously beautiful thing into a complete nightmare, im new to the forum but ive been reading since right around the site was created, so i see how much pain everyone's gone through, from expected motors(ls7) to package options(the lost z28) to rumors on all wheel drive, the car got so hyped up that when the real thing came all that was left was the looks, and that's even different, im just glad im so broke i cant even dream of having one for the next 10 years, lol
