My new door switch

Trying to get this project done. All that's left is to run wire.

I have the lock switches, plug, and wires that I got from gen5diy. I'm pretty sure the wire isn't going to be long enough to run off the old center switch, which sucks. My car is in a million pieces and I don't have extra wire.
The other issue is I have to find a ground and abl light power in the door. Can I just splice into the purple and black wire to the door abl for those 2? I want the switches to light up.

My new door switch

Got a weird issue after the MyLink install.

Ran all wires to the center console from my new lock/unlock switches in the doors. I tapped into the orange/black for unlock and pink/black for lock.
Problem: the lock button works great but the unlock button will not work, on either side. Also, the car no longer unlocks when I put it in park (not sure if that's a MyLink setting thing or not). The key fob works fine for lock & unlock.

Also, the switches have power & ground because the switches light up.

Any suggestions?

Did you test your switch before to install the mylink

First, thank you for the help, I really need and appreciate it!

I hooked up the switches after the MyLink. I did test them before putting the door panels on but just for lighting. I figured that was the more important part. I figured wrong I guess.

I just can't understand why the lock works but the unlock does not, on both sides.

I was thinking of buying some new wire and trying that. Maybe I got a bad batch or something?...

The wire I have is 14 gauge, so too big maybe?

My new door switch

Here's a very rudimentary drawing of what I did.

I pulled the power & ground for the lock switch lighting directly from the door ABL. I then ran the lock & unlock wires to the center console and tapped into the existing center lock/unlock wires.

Again, the lock works fine but the unlock does not, on both sides.

I know I mentioned this before and was corrected but this was my thought:

Lock Switch:

Pin 1: Led Back Light - Split/Share a connection with window switch (as they should light up at the same time anyways.
Pin 2: Lock Button - Use ABL +
Pin 3: Unlock Button - Use ABL -
Pin 4: Ground - Split/Share connection with window switch

Relocate the ABL wires on the dash side to the proper pins to now control the door locks.

Note my car doesn't have ABL but the wires are present just not active.

OmniCamaro:

Try reversing your lock and unlock to see if the opposite effect happens. That will confirm your buttons at least work.

I don't see why that wouldn't work.

I'll switch them and see. Good tip, thanks.

Eureka! Thanks for the help guys, I found my problem!

The unlock wire on the drivers door had a cut in it. I took the door panel back off and found it. I knew my wiring wasn't wrong!
