Nope, never use them. But they do look pretty at night, and the local youths think the same, when they ask to look inside.

I agree with this, traded in one with the gauges, they look like an after thought to me, the place to put your phone and loose change, etc. is way more useful, but I like the interior completely blacked out also, without all of the squeaky plastic on the door panels and dash, actually preferred the 1ss/rs, but everyone has their own opinion.

I got mine from a member in our camaro club for my 1SS/L99 for free as he did a total custom rebuild of his camaro from the ground up. I look at mine ALL the time as I like to know what's up with the oil pressure and the temps, especially the trans temp as I already had a trans burn up on me not knowing anything was up temp wise. Now I can glance over and see how things are doing. Also they look awsome and I get all kinds of comments on the look. I personally think they are useful and worth the money. I was going to buy a set, but the free one came up so I jumped all over it..Good luck

This and I don't want to loose the space. My DIC has amps analog & digital coolant temp etc. Tranny temp would be nice though.

It's this adrenaline rush every morning that makes me love my car every single day! Am I setting myself up for some trouble with the car by making it work hard before it might be ready? I'm planning on driving my car as many winter days as I can, so with our below freezing 3 months of the year ahead of me in Cleveland, I'd like to be forewarned on my driving habits if it's necessary.
Not sure how much throttle you're using, but I try to keep my RPM's below 3000 until I have close to 200 degrees of oil temp. An engine that's not up to temp is susceptible to damage/wear and tear under high revs and heavy load. I take it pretty easy below 200, my tuner told me after 175 you're good.
