about as much as deleting the resonators (more volume) but without the rasp you gain with doing that. Deleting the rear cats basically adds a bit more volume and gives you a deeper tone. I'd imagine completely deleting cats would make the sound note even deeper but I still need my cats.

DJ ATOMIX So do you think the sound would change if I put 3" chrome tips on the setup you have?

What? The reason I asked is because he did not put tips on his and was wondering if the reason he left them off is because tips changed the sound!

I don't know a lot about exhaust, so I'm curious as to how you run 3" pipe from a 2.5" outlet on the X pipe. I'm assuming that if I just take it to a shop and tell them to run 3" from the X pipe back they'll understand how to do it lol, I was just curious.

Yes sir, it's an exhaust coupler / step up that merges the 2.5" and 3" pipes.

That is the magnaflow tru-x. We are (mostly) talking about the magnaflow resonated x pipe. Part #11386.

Regardless, you MIGHT get a tiny bit of power with an x pipe, but in theory yes you'll get a better sound with the tru-x.

I did the VMAX TB first... totally worth it.

Like I said, you might get power with the x pipe (our exhaust flows quite well from the factory) but I'm not sure on the sound. Most guys run the res-x pipe. The tru-x has no muffling or anything, so I can't really say. I apologize for not being more help.

Well, that goes back to my first post about how our exhaust flows very well. The difference between an h pipe and an x pipe on our cars is negligible. On some older cars, yes, the difference was very real. However, not so much here. Mostly just a sound change.

He didn't put tips on because he has the GFX bumper...

I have 4" tips on mine (cut all factory from cats to resonated x then straight piped to magnapacks with tips)... sounds great!

You can see pics on my profile page. I also posted a write up a long time ago with sound clips as well.

When I start my car it sounds great! When I accel about 1 or 2 minutes after the Cold Start, I have this rasp that occurs ....This started after I installed the DT Shorty Headers. Now my car sounds mean if I accel at a conservative pace.

If I go on Monday and get an X Pipe installed (like in the link http://www.radmotorsport808.com/imag...low_x_pipe.jpg ) will I get more power, and an even BETTER sound?
I love flows on 8 cylinders (ran the American thunder pkg on all my prior 5.0 mustangs). The original 40s on my Chevy 454 dumped mid truck bed underneath.

The flows (to me) sound way to hollow on a V6. Going to a nonresonated x is going to get even more raspy with decel pops. I had one installed for two days... HORRIBLE but LOUD on WOT!
