If I wasn't getting my other LSx powered car ready for the LSx shootout & I'm getting the new SS ready for the same event. I would have paid cash, but between the SS & my 4th gen I've dumped about $10k just in mods this month, and paid off 1/2 of my new SS. I don't like financing stuff, a house note is all I want to owe & if I wasn't trying to keep so many hotrods running, my house would be paid off.
you got a lot of stuff and your reasons make sense. But most people don't have all that going on and thats the people I don't understand. You sir are legit and make perfect sense.

Tell me how much a 2ss weighs because I was told 3850 with no driver and mine weighed in at 3840 with me in the car and I weigh about 180-190.
The you can't tell me that the boston acoustic subs, amplifier, halo lights, extra guages, and leather weighs the same as not having any of that! about the only way you can drop weight is to take that stuff off!

Well if you don't believe me take it up with chevy/GM

http://www.chevrolet.com/vehicles/20...ro/features.do

go to dimensions and tell me what you see.

gauges don't weigh much, leather ain't adding no more then maybe 10lbs, subs and amps don't exist so where are you getting this from. The sub and amp maybe exist and then aren't big. And who says Halo lights are a part of a 2SS. you are trying to hard to make what you say true. Chevy specs either take it or ignore it. Choice is yours, but it doesn't mean you are right.

I love my 1SS/RS with the BA System. The only thing that interests me in upgrades was the usb hookup and gauges and there are easy solutions for that. No interest in leather and I think the lighter greay interior with black exterior looks amazing and gives the car a really cool contrast, Ive has a few people thinknig it was custom. For me the saving was about $4700. if you consider Canadian money, 13%tax and the interest on the extra financing. Sure if you can afford it and 90% of the package is good for u grab it. For me it was just not worth it. If the package was a functional cowl, 3" dual exhaust and maybe a different rim choice then yah Id probly saved up and waited but as others have stated I have saved almost 5gs to down the road use as upgrades or even take a nice 3 week holiday. 1LT,2LT,1SS or 2SS they are all awesome to me and after being an owner of Camaros for like 20 years Im just happy as shit in the new found interest and respect for these cars. GM did just as awesome a job with them as we the enthusiasts have an will continue to put our heart and souls in them to keep them going. The passion for the Camaro is by no means measured by their trim levels, only the thrill and exhiliration each one of us gets everytime we slap our asses into the driver seat and roll out of the driveway. That was my Camaro Hallmark moment. GM I am for hire for pep rallies lol.

Got the 2 SS / RS and love it! Would not have wanted anything else - again, it's a preference thing. I didn't want to settle, and the other models would have been settling for me. Saving money would have been good, but hell, at my age, I'm not going to settle for less with the small cost difference. I like and use all the stuff - even in CA! I've used the heated seats in my Denali, and my Frontier pickup. I use the Bluetooth ALL the time and my Girlfriend's IPOD is great with the C&C package. And yes, I use the SWC all the time too - no matter how close the radio is. I wanted it all, and dats whats I gots

Michael J.
Oh, I don't regret the decision either! Especially in black...son of a bee to keep clean! Especially when she lives outside :(

as for all the connectivity options: there is still an aux input jack which takes a 14 dollar 1/8" jack to connect to the sound system, and a car charger and boom youve got the same thing for alot less...bluetooth is overrated...and the 4 pack guages i actually didnt want, and the extra little compartement that is there in its stead is a good spot to place little things (like my garage door opener and cell phones (which wont clip to the cheap sunvisors)...the only thing i did want on the 2ss was the ambient lighting, and im sure that can be added later here in a few weeks.... i just went fully loaded on my 1ss and am completely happy....

PS: heated mirrors and leather seats are also not needed here in Texas

but get what you want man, if you can affor the $4k dollar upgrade for (IMHO) are just fluff, go for it...but is all a personal choice.

I found out with my 1998 Z28 what Chevy means by "leather". The only leather used is for the seating surfaces. Everything else is genuine vinyl. I have a 1 SS and I love it. My neighbor got the 2SS and I like mine better. The plastic coves in the doors look like crap and who needs the red light strips. I got a 1SS, A6 L99, Boston Accoustics and polished wheels. Don't need bluetooth, remote start or steering wheel controls. Don't need the garage door opener. I would have paid the 3 grand without question for 50 more horsepower.

umm why waste money on the bottom and sides when you aren't going to see it or sit on those parts. Sounds smart and like a go cost technique. I'm just saying what benefit do you get out of all leather under the seat?

I owe a 1SS over the 2SS because I got it off the show room floor and did not have to spend months waiting for an order to be built and delivered. But, most of all it was in my price range and I didn't pay over sticker.

I sum it up this way . . . It's a Chevy for God's sake, it's supposed to have cloth seats . . . In days of old if you wanted creature comforts . . . you moved up to a Pontiac or perhaps an Oldsmobile. Oh wait, they don't offer those anymore . . . Never mind . . . just get what you can afford/want. Either a 1SS or 2SS will make you

The reason I purchased a 1SS over a 2SS was simple... the additional $3k - $4k I saved will go to performance mods instead of convenience/appearance mods. If the 2SS would have offered performance upgrades that added HP, I would have bought the 2SS in a heartbeat.
