I see... so use the forum to get GM to buy it back. It might work, but you might be better off contacting the regional rep and asking he/she for a face to face meeting to discuss the quality issues. Be straight about your buyers remorse. There's no shame in that since you're on your second car and have more issues.

I doubt trashing GM on the forum will work, but I can now see why you are making all of these posts. Since they will view this as bad PR and stick their ground, you're only depreciating the value of your VIN by telling the world about your cars problems.
Consider it trash talking if you will, but current owners & prospective buyers should be aware of whats going on. Also thats what these forums are about is to share what issues, mods, fun, etc we all come across as camaro owners.

I took delivery in August 2012 MY 2013.
The car has been simply amazing. Best bang for the buck out there imo.
The only problem I have had is a leak I found today. Looks to me like the Oil pan or transmission leak. I am dropping her off on Monday to get the leak fixed and clean the exhaust, sway bar etc.. Feel free to comment on the picture I have included as to what to issue may be?

Reading through this thread I made note that I don't ever want to purchase 2012 ZL1 # 565 or 2013 ZL1 #3553 if I see either of them offered for sale.

Knowing I would not be driving my 2013 IOM ZL1, I spent a lot of time looking it over the day it arrived at the dealership before I arranged to have it carried to my garage. The paint and ECF and bright wheels were all perfect. Panel gaps were very even, although the driver's side of the hood was a little low. I let the engine idle the whole time I was inspecting the car, then crawled underneath all sides of the car and didn't see any sign of a fluid leak. My buddy Mark (we call him the flaw finder) looked it over too, and he thought the finishes were great except for the hood being low on that one side. He suggested that we adjust it rather than expose an otherwise perfect car to a dealership employee.

However, now I'm concerned that I won't know until the warranty has run out (when I start driving it years from now) if it has any of the mechanical problems that I have read about on this forum. Why couldn't you guys keep that stuff to yourselves instead of adding to my stress level and worries?
Why are you keeping your car in storage that long?

After reading through the thread, one item that seems to be a common theme on the ZL1 is paint. We'll pass this feedback on to the appropriate figures within GM, and if anybody has anything that they would like for us to look into specifically please be sure to contact us via private message with details.

Thank you for noticing that. The soft paint is really my only quality complaint I have. The lower rocker panel in front of the rear tires chipped real bad and looked sandblasted within the first 800 miles.

Gm should offer a good paint protection film as an option on the high risk to paint chip areas on the car.

My only issue has been that the material on the steering wheel has wrinkled up in one small area. The dealer ordered a new steering wheel and should be replacing it next week.

John Deere Racer,

Sorry to hear about this concern. I understand the displeasure created by this and we're here to help. Please feel free to send me a PM and reference this thread so I can take a closer look into these matters.
