What's a R2C intake? That CAI one is one of the very best. Jannetty did a intake shootout a few years ago and posted the results on this site. If you do a search you can find it. The CAI one won the shootout. He then retested them all with an ADM scoop installed. Again the CAI came out on top. I think it made 18 RWHP with the scoop. I think it was that test that opened everybody's eyes up to the value of the scoop. That's why I bought one. I figured that if I was buying one anyway, I may as well get the one that works the best. I think I read somewhere that all the better performing ones are open in the bottom and sealed on top. Some on here swear by the Vararams, but Jannetty said they didn't send him one for the test, so he didn't test it. I'm not personally a fan of the way you have to lay your radiator back to install a Vararam, but I'm not knocking them. the guys who have them seem to love them.

If you guys will look at the OP's photos and christianchevell's photos, you will see that it is the exact same intake tube. It's a CAI intake. it's just missing it's enclosure. But it's neither here nor there now, he's already bought a intake. He says he bought a R2C intake, but I'm not sure what that is. It's a shame he couldn't just get the enclosure. That CAI intake is one of the top 2 or 3 on the market.

I really do not think my intake was a CAI. Why would it be that without the fishtank around it? CAI doesn't sell them that way. Here is what I think it is: a cheap $149 tube with a shitty filter on it. Like this: http://www.pfyc.com/pc/CA3099/CAINTA...Camaro+SS.html

R2C makes filters for Sprint cars and other racing cars. So the filters work. Very well. It's not flashy, no one at a car show is going to notice it. But it works very well. This thing flows air like a beast. My mid range is awesome, and the howl it makes is guttural. I am going to write a post on it, but suffice to say it is Way better than a chrome played tube I had.
Ive not driven a stock airbox SS, but I think that the old setup I had robbed power. Here is a link to R2C. Oh, and it's almost half the price of the popular ones if you order from their website.

I'm sold.

You are wrong

The Stig is right

THE RED SS MEANS RS PACKAGE. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH 1SS or 2SS.

Back on topic:
4ga cluster is standard on 2SS, but many dealers install them on 1SSs
