There is no fanboism on anything I post. I try to post facts. I have owned multiple Mustang's and Camaro's. If the 2011 GT had been out in 2009 I would have givin it a real hard look. At the time I ordered my SS the 2010 GT was a joke in comparison to the SS. If the 2013-2014 GT had been out at that time I probably would have gotten a GT instead of a SS. You better check your self before you call me out.

I actually cringe when fellow Camaro owners say "well throw a couple of turns in there". It makes me laugh because a extremely large number of Camaro, Mustang, Challenger owners will engage in some sort of straight line race. Whether that be on the street, highway, airstrip or drag strip, at some point most if not all owners will race in this way. However, almost NO ONE is going to race on a road course with their cars. I'm talking maybe the smallest ever percentage of car owners will race in that way or ever have their car on that type of track. When they say that it's almost always just bragging rights like my football team beat your football team.

The 2011+ Mustang GT is faster than a SS in any type of straight line racing stock for stock and mod for mod when all variables are the same until you start changing the entire engine on a SS. Then it gets a bit blurry. I have never said anything otherwise. The 2011+ GT is faster than the SS because of a 200-300lb weight difference, SRA, and ability to run a 15" slick/DR. It is what it is.

You're right. Corvette C6 Z06s were made by aliens not GM. Dude in the real world of racing , the race courses I have heard more stories of the Vette actually beating GTRs and even heard modded Evo 10 owners with yes 500hp claiming that man those C6 Z06s are a handful.

I hate that..!

(that's the only stang that can normally beat an ss right? Obviously anything above as well)

The older GTs can't win right? (stock for stock)
The most important factor here is the driver. If the DRIVER sucks A$$, it doesnt really matter WHAT youre driving!

+1 If you keep getting spanked and do nothing about it then I assume you like spankings.

Funny thing is, if you go to Mustang sites(or any other automotive site), you will very rarely enounter a question of "why is the Camaro faster than the Coyote 5.0". If I had a dime for everytime I have seen that question of "why the 5.0 is faster?" on this site, I'd be a millionaire. General consensus, and reality, is the Coyote 5.0 is faster. With almost the same power output between the two cars, the 5th Gen just can defy physics, regardless of what other Camaro owners would like to believe. It sux that GM decided to put a great engine in a boat anchor, its just not a good platform for drag racing.

+1

...and this is coming from somebody who believed they were both trash/junk leading up to 2009. Well at least the Camaro isn't anymore .

I'd be called a troll if I began to brag about anything else out there.
Mustang fans on here hould be treated no differently, because trust me, I can easily play that game.

Just get lighter rear wheels that's all Damn already. There is a big and I mean huge difference between Stock 20x9s vs 20x10TSW Nurbs and 19x9.5 Enkei Raijins at 22lbs per rim.

What is your definition of "performance"?

I'm curious to hear it.

The mustang was built for street/strip use. The next one is going around corners better.

You forgot braking, and...

Actuuuuaaly, I owned a fully modded VW Golf TDI a few years back, with close to 400 ft-lb at the front wheels, mind you its HP was way lower. Nonetheless, this car would take you up to 40km/h, even though you would probably take me at higher speeds due to HP.....but the kicker was, most people would back off anyways by 50km/h, out of pure initial insult or embarrassment, hence the illusion of a win :0 .

Excelling in turns is very important, and here is why. A car that excels on the road course with minimal driver effort, means it is VERY safe during emergency manoeuvres on highways, God forbid something happen like a truck tire hopping down the road towards you. Ever hear of SUV's flipping over during these type of case scenarios?

Also, many always seem to conveniently forget braking. A car that stops 2ft quicker 60-0ft, can mean the difference between life and death during collision avoidance.

The Camaro's performance figures in these departments, particularly the ZL1, 1LE, Z28, are quite significant over the top, when compared $ to $ with the present and past competition.

"Tomorrow", is an other day, and I would LOVE to see a Mustang excel one day, or any other car for that matter.

I hold allegiance to no one on these matters. I'm not blinded by loyalty.

Last but not least, I also look at a cars chassis stiffness for on track performance, and then build quality for safety in collisions. Guess where the Camaro ranks?
