Fyi. I'm out of town with limited access. Will update everything tomorrow night.
Anyone not on the list post up so i can make up goody bags. As i have limited trunk space i can provide to those on the list.

Vinman and I were just discussing events for Saturday after the race. We are thinking hitting the local car cruise in Elmira before heading to a local establishment for wings s and such.

Watkin's Glen 6/28/14

[QUOTE=ZED SLED;7720080]Yes to all the above. This year will be more subdued than in the past due to reduced interest from Chevrolet and the track. Most of this is due to the ALMS-Grand Am merger.

Not exactly true.
GM is hosting the first "real" Corvette Corral with a large hospitality tent.
Same setup as in the past seasons with ALMS at other venues.
The track has provided inside turn 1 where we were last year, but on the upper two tiers.
Tickets sold out for 200 cars. At $65.00 it is by far the least expensive Corral ticket on the circuit.

just to be sure the Corvettes and Camaro classes will be on the track sat and sunday for the 6hr race. Iv never been to one so I dont know how it works. I mainly want to see those 2 classes and do some laps around the track. Is there a $25 fee to go around for us. They have the Drive at the Glen for $25. 55mph no passing.
Im hoping I can still get a ticket. I have to work until saturday so have no way of picking the ticket up before saturday.

Full 1LE suspension, with BMR adjustable sway bars and links, GM aluminum cradle bushings, Hurst shifter with lighter reverse spring, TWM shifter knob, Tick level 1 transmission. I should have bought a ZL1

Camaros run on Saturday. The Vettes run Sunday, although I think there might be a couple on Saturday too. There is no extra fee to run the track after the race, but you might find it hard to park with us. Or expensive. Hoping if you called ahead you can still get the Camaro Corral pass.

Yes, that works out great for the Corvettes because Chevrolet footed the bill for the corral. They wouldn't even return my e-mails about sponsoring a spot for us, therefore we are relegated to a spot outside the track, unless we wanted to pay $50 for an infield pass for each car on top of the tickets.

Go to post 1 and call Rob. You should still be able to get the package but will have to pick it up at the Will Call office when you arrive Saturday. Go the the track website and you should be able to find directions to the Will Call office. The package includes a parking pass which you will need to get through Gate 6. 55mph paced laps is what their lawyers make them say. They are paced, and there is no guarantee we will go faster, it's up to the pace car driver. We usually hit 100+ on the straights. The object is to give you a good lap experience. Like they say, if you want to see how fast it goes, take it to the quarter mile. The main rule is ABSOLUTELY NO PASSING! Let me know for sure if you're coming and if your uncle is with his car as well.

Updates

Arrival on Saturday
The schedule for team tours is tight do to all the events. I would plan to arrive no later than 9:30 (9:00 if you have to pick up your tickets at Will Call) in order to get parked, setup, and over to the paddock for the CKS meet-greet at 10:00 with Lawson Aschenbach. We need to be on time for this so we can make it to pit road by 10:20 to meet with Stevenson prior to the fan walk. Anyone wanting to see the Action Xpress DP Corvettes needs to be ready to head over for that tour at 1:00.

Goody bags
Again, to receive a goody bag you must be on the list on post 2. There's not that much in them this year but it still takes time to make them up. I've heard rumblings of a couple of people planning to go that haven't posted up. It shouldn't be that difficult to let me know so I can plan accordingly.

Laps
Parade laps will be at approx. 7:30 on Saturday. We will be running by ourselves. Most of you know the drill. For those that don't there is ABSOLUTELY NO PASSING. Doing so will get us all removed from the track. Also, no 'laying back' to see how fast you can go down the straight. All this will be discussed when Rob comes over to get us.

Friday
I plan to go over Friday afternoon for a while to meet with the IMSA people and to check out some of the afternoon events. If anyone else is going look me up. I'll be parked in the corral.

Outstanding effort as always Mark.

Can't wait to see everyone again. Looks like it's going to be warm & sunny too.

A benefit (for me anyways) with the new location is a shorter trip to get down to my favourite spots in "the boot" for pictures. Should make things a little easier on my pack horse.

Looking forward to the new look 6 Hours of the Glen IMSA field.

How are they doing crowd control? Maybe if we stick to Chevy Racing apparel we can "crash" their party.

Mark,

I should be there early tomorrow afternoon, maybe earlier. I wanted to check out the CTSC GT Class qualifying but that's at 1125 and I'm not sure I'm going to get there by then.
