That site shows the specs of the Concept and what they envisioned. It hasn't been updated since before Transformers the movie came out. That information is all the specs of the CONCEPT and they just haven't changed it yet.

Maybe, maybe not. Krieger's $24K educated guess for the 3.6L DI version could be pretty much spot on. What I'm thinking is that the Camaro of course must be priced competitively with the mustang but it may cost a few grand more. I forgot the exact source of that info; something to the effect of the 5th gen will be affordable BUT will command a premium over the 'stang. Could still start at 20 or 22, lets hope for the latter.

I gotta say though, if the V6's hp numbers stay in the 300ish range, that'll be more than enough for moi . On the flipside, if a V8 Z28 can be swung for around 27, that will be very very hard to pass up.

my guesses

A 4cyl Turbo-soon maybe?
3.6L DI-sure thing
5.3L and a modded 6.1L?

Hows this for off de wall: In the near future, an ALL electric performance 5th Gen (a-la Tesla and Fisker Karma). A technology showcase, to show the world that us Umrikhans can still hang with the best of 'em.

Here is my guess for power.
$22 000 280 hp V6 detuned 3.6 DI
$28 500 380 hp V8 retuned L76
$39 000 500 hp s/c V8 6.2L LS?

Makes for a nice spread powerwise. I used to think that the top V8 would be 36 000, but having learned that it will be supercharged, I will say 39 000 now.

Oh, and from a pricing poll/thread we gave $28 400.99 Base V8, $35 977.85 Top V8 http://camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2799

I keep saying it, if GM puts an aluminum 427 in the Camaro, use the LS7, make it as light as possible, and call it the ZL-1. I really want that to happen. Not likely to happen but we can dream though . . .

I really hope I can bag the top dog for under 36k. This is my dream car and if I can't get the one I want, I won't be getting one. Not that I have any pull on the pricing, but if I can get the top camaro for $35,999.99 or less. I'm going for it.

It'll be around for a while, so keep on dreaming about that next generation muscle car.
GM knows that the (base) V8 Camaro can't be much more than the Mustang GT. I think you will see the prices of the 4th gen Camaros take a nose dive when the sellers have to compete with a new 5th gen under $30k.

I'm sure there are some people who really love the 4th gen and are just getting around to being able to afford one or just had theirs totaled. But I suspect that a lot of the demand is really just guys who want fast, modern(ish), RWD, coupe; but don't like the Mustang or any of the imports. Once the 5th gen hits the dealer lots this second group is not going to have much interest in a 4th gen unless it is substantially cheaper than a new 5th gen.

I probably should've specified that the older ones I mentioned are 1st and 2nd generation Camaros. 4th generation Camaros are selling well, but they aren't getting price tags as high as 1969 SS coupes or 1974 Z28s.

You're right, though. There will be plenty of interest, and it will whack the Mustang on the track with a very close price.
