Ok thanks, that answers my question. Cross over tubes are down as you describe, so I must have it correct.

I am also focusing on the oil filter. The PF48 uses adhesive that may not handle high temps as well. AC Delco says their PF48e (or e-core) has no adhesive and therefore better at high temps. They also say the bypass is more reliable. I currently am using a premium Wix XP which has no adhesives as far as I can determine.

Yup, Wix here too. I'll cut mine apart on the oil change coming up and post my findings.

I'm running the PF48R. R stands for Racecar, so it must be good.

Z06/ZR1 uses UPF48R. Is this the same? If not, I'd recommend that one.

I don't get it. We already buy many parts from forum vendors since there are many custom parts for our cars not available elsewhere. I also prefer vendors when pricing is similar elsewhere, but why would I pay substantially more; how does that make sense? Isn't competitive pricing a big part of the customer service?

I suppose there's a rule for vendors not being able to refer to companies that are not vendors. Is that what you meant?

I think he was just encouraging you to support the forum vendors. JDP are good folks that I personally don't mind spending a little more at times with them. Lots of times they'll be the best price on the expensive stuff when it really counts.
