Thought so. I'm pretty much convinced that only a 3" exhaust can compensate for aluminum engine harmonics, and along with LT hdrs and no or HF cats, is the only way to make our car truely sound close to a cast iron block muscle car like yours does

Nice work Bo! I found this thread right after I started teardown for my cam swap before I pulled the timing cover. I was a nervous wreck that my tensioner was going to be broken... thankfully it wasn't. I am not sure I am brave enough to go through what you did!

How many miles on your engine? Are you going to stay with a tensioner or go with a dampner?

I have 130k miles. I finished the cam swap with the stick tensioner last week. Starting to wonder if I should go back in and replace it though. Everything looked good when I hade the timing cover off and the tensioner was really tight still.

If it ain’t broke don’t fixit. Did you reuse the original tensioner? 130k is a good run. Did you drive it hard at WOT a lot?
