Dude...that's it. I'm bringing along MR. Smith and MR. Wesson. That is about 35 minutes away from me. I'm all for a manhunt.

There's no need for all this violent rhetoric. He was arrested on a Wednesday, he should get his Constitutional speedy fair trail on Thursday, and taken behind the courthouse and shot in the back of the head on Friday.

+1

I had an experience in the mid 90's that caused me to become a concealed carry weapons holder (CCW).

It was early in the morning (around 4:30 am) and I was on my way to work. I rolled up to an intersection with a low-rider in the lane next to me on my left. I glanced over and made eye contact with the passenger in the car, and that's all it took. The guy yelled, "What the F*%$ are you looking at!", and then raised up a machine pistol! Sweet Jesus, I thought I was a goner. The traffic light changed to green and they sped off.

From that day forward, I vowed to myself to never be caught defenseless in my car or truck again. Honestly, I am never going to look for trouble, but I am ready as a last resort.

If anyone has seen Reservoir Dogs, they would know IT"S STUPID to carry a gun in your car and try to fend off a carjacker. It's just a movie but that's how most self-defense situations go.

It's just a car...especially a car that can be remotely located. Give the thief your car and don't do something stupid like carry a gun and get in a firefight.

Firstly... I am glad the woman was unharmed.... I know first hand how it feels to be held at gun point. I've been through it more than once myself. (Even had the pleasure of someone playing russian roulette with MY HEAD...) As you can tell.. I guess I didn't lose. (5 trigger pulls and only one spin) But yes there was a bullet.. I watched it get put in while the other two douche bags had their glocks on me. (Also been through an armed robbery jewel heist involving a getaway car when an auction I was working at was robbed by a couple of gun toting thiefs. nothing like turning around to a gun barrel between the eyes... "Wheres the jewelry!"

Anyways. It's a shitty thing to go through, and I've seen some people freeze up and do weird things in a moment of trauma like that. Odd's are the lady wasn't thinking clearly or may not even be aware of the trunk release. The adrenaline rush, and the reality that you just might die in a few seconds. Really throws a curve ball at you that can really stun some people and disable a persons mind from coming up with all these good idea's we think of after the matter.

I find it a little disturbing how many people on heres responses are.. "THATS WHY I CARRY MY OWN GUN" .... I'll tell you this much, you point a gun at a guy holding a gun and he's going to wanna be the first person to shoot and you are entering a whole new ball game so I hope you are as "bad ass" as you think you are. Leave the hero shit to clint eastwood movies. Imo you are only increasing the level of danger you are putting yourself in. The only time having that gun might be in your favor is if the person accosting you doesn't have a weapon and you wanna scare em off (but good luck knowing if they have a weapon or not, just cuz its not out doesnt mean its not concealed).. Or if there is absolutely no stopping them from acting out violently regardless of what you do/say or have.

Put yourself in their shoes... If I'm desperate enough to carry a gun to rob people... I'm going to take desperate measures if one of those people points a gun at me... Guarantee you I'm leaning a lotttt more towards pulling the trigger than before you pulled a gun out.

Yes I have brandished a weapon more than once to save myself or my family/girlfriend. But it was a last resort. And I've only had to "use" a weapon once.

I got through these incidents with my life and that was all I wanted.. Property can be replaced.

All seriousness aside.....

Why didn't the trunk monkey activate !!! He shoulda pulled the release or did a barrel roll through the seats and went all beverly hills ninja on that foo.

- After thought... Maybe the thief got tired of "the wait" or his dealer sold his order to the woman in question! (sorry, bad jokes).

But yeah, It's unfortunate the woman either was in shock or didn't know about the release though.. Even if the vehicle is moving... you don't have to JUMP from the vehicle in order to flag someone down for help... I know 90% of the people out their on the road talk on their cell phones.. Someone easily coulda called it in.. "Some lady's waving for help from the trunk of a 2010 camaro with licence plate yada yada , I am talking on my cell phone while driving right behind her this very second !!"

And that is the attitude that leads to people carjacking in the first place.
Yes its just a car. Shoot after they get in if you have too. But by all means shoot!

Guys, I'm very sure this was a rental vehicle, can tell from the Va tag...also in reference to OnStar, it's a great thing once you get through to the onstar dispatcher and verify your the police or owner...after those minutes pass, yep they can shut the car down, and they can advise what is being said inside the vehicle as well, if anyones talking...can be valuable information.

Why would you risk your own life trying to shoot a carjacker who's armed as well? Unless he dies instantly he's going to shoot you back. If he sees you reach for a gun he's going to shoot you. I swear people live in this fantasy land where shooting bad guys is like an action movie...they always miss and you never do. The car can be tracked...you'll get your car back. IT"S JUST A CAR.

If you shoot him (by the way, you all have concealed weapon licenses?) you risk getting killed yourself....the jacker is going to have his gun ON YOU when he jacks your car, so unless you can whip out your gun from where ever you have it hidden, shoot him lethally so he doesn't shoot you back, and then win your court case for killing someone, go for it!

This is in response to people thinking that carrying a gun while driving is a great idea. If you imagine the situation of how a carjacking takes place (instantly) there's no scenario where you're going to be able to get your gun out on an armed carjacker without being at least shot yourself.

good to hear the lady was ok...

but i can see both point of views with the gun carrying in the car...
1. its a car and can give it a way np bec of the security of onstar...
2. if someone is not only going to take my car but abduct me... or hurt me... then forsure...
given the circumstances... id feel better having a gun in the car...

only if physical harm was to come to me...

Wait so those radio commercials lie when those people have wrecks and onstar person pops up? They can't press the button to a readily available agent? Also, even if onstar does get on why would they have to verify anything?? You're in the vehicle! I mean unless of course you're doing the cell phone route or what not, but man that would just be crapping twiddling your thumbs to music until someone can get on so you can explain your situation.
