Man, people sure do have blinders on when talking about the car they own!
My $38K Camaro IS better than a Hellcat. A Honda S2000 is a better car than a 700HP Hellcat. A Mazda Miata is a better car than a Hellcat. There are any number of good-handling cars out there, of which the Hellcat is not one, which makes those good-handling cars better than the Hellcat.

Given your username, horsepower means something to you. That's great. But not everyone thinks the same way you do. I couldn't give two shyts about having anywhere near that much horsepower. To me, a more asinine performance statistic than "quarter-mile time" has never existed.

My old license plate on my track car read "CRNRCRVR". Handling is worth 5x more than power to me, and many others. That's what makes the Hellcat a worthless hunk of crap to us.

Well, okee dokee.

I need to find a Hellcat owner who feels the same way so we can trade straight up.

You base your opinion on having to have only one car. I'm rather thinking Hellcat could be an excellent street car, while I could keep my 1LE and Miata for heavy track use. Hellcat is actually not a bad handling car, and it will do its job very well at the street, but obviously there's so much weight you can carry to turn a corner like a sports car.

Can't we all just appreciate that both cars are cool, or at least interesting, in their own rights? Seriously, different people like different things; that's the reason that the manufacturers make different cars. I love my 1LE, I prefer it's looks and handling to the Hellcat, but no one is going to tell me that 707hp isn't an impressive (albeit stupid in a good way) number that's probably a ridiculous amount of fun. People are different, like different things, live in different areas, and have different taste. There's no reason to hate on someone simply because they don't think exactly like you.

This kind of pissing contest is what turns so many people off from the car scene, chill out everyone and enjoy the fact that we all appreciate great design, engineering, and driving.

You're somewhat right. I want an all-around great street car, one car that does it all. Cruise, grand touring, traffic, commute, Sunday morning ride, etc. I do believe though, in having a dedicated track car, as a very good track car is essentially un-streetable. My old 325 was so stiff that it just was not fun to drive on regular roads. You spent your entire time doing everything you could to avoid small cracks and or objects in the road, as they jarred your teeth. And I lived in northern NJ, where roads are relatively terrible.

I still don't see the point of a Hellcat though, even as a street car. A Viper, with its 355s out in the back, has "usable" torque that makes it a very fun and flexible motor on the street since it has a matching amount of traction. Other aspects of that car make it annoying as hell on the street (like the absurd tram-lining and hot transmission tunnel). But the Hellcat, with its shopping-cart tires, just seems like such a poorly engineered feat of one-up-man-ship. It's a car designed and desired by 12 year olds who want nothing more than to point fingers at someone with "only" 6-hundred-and-something HP and say, "I win".

My LS3 has more than enough HP power for the street, too much power for the track (I get more joy in a momentum car that makes you really work for your lap time), and a perfect amount of overall power for cone-dodging.

If I had the room for two cars, I'd have a Miata for a track car (gutted, rattle-my-kidneys suspenders), and a 1LE (possibly a ZL1, jury's still out on that) for a street car.

While I think the 1LE offers the best blend of street and track use currently offered by Chevy, I still don't see it as a good track car. At its weight, it eats brakes, and more importantly tires, far too quickly.

Yes, I would take a Hellcat charger over a 1LE Camaro for 2 reasons:

1) charger has more room

2) charger has an automatic transmission. I got sick of manuals after having my G8GXP.

When they offer a Z06 that has a back seat my kids can ride in, then I'll be all over it! Otherwise, it's useless to me.

Personally, if I were to buy one, the first thing I would do it remove the ugly black vinyl hood wrap, as I think it makes the car look cheap. Not a big fan of the black wheels, either, but I could at least live with them.
REALLY?!!! How old are you? You are really showing your intelligence and maturity... grow up and leave this site to adults or at least mature people.

This has gotten kinda stupid... Two different cars for two different purposes... Get what you like, but I'm done with this thread cause some of the people are acting like 16 year olds who got their feelings hurt. God bless all...

Nope....there are a few cars that I would take over my 1LE, but the Hellcat isn't one of them.
