No offense. I can totally understand/respect your opinion. But, you say "use your brain to think logically"? Should have taken a test drive first instead of trying to be the first one on the block to have the latest and greatest toy, i.e., the 2010 Camaro SS. I would never buy a car sight unseen/not drive it. Oh, wait, yes I am. It will be a '69 Camaro. (The car will be rebuilt and a pro-touring beast. So, no need to drive it first.)
Good luck with the Nissan. (Wish you would stay American though. Why not a Z06 or a ZR1?)

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, it's to bad you are disappointed.

What’s your definition of "violently quick"? I drove a new stock Vette and to me the Camaro is on par. My definition of violently quick = ZRI.

As for the handling the Camaro does a great job out of the box and for $459.00 Hothkis makes a nice set of say-bars that will make the Camaro feel like it's on rails.

The 370Z is a alright car, I love the Camaro and would take it anyday over the Z. Some problems that i experienced with the Z during the test drive: Steering was very stiff and was just a hassle to turn with, was a bit of an annoyance. It's a small car, so the room in the cabin of the car is also small...i felt trapped in the car. For it being a little car and having around 350HP it felt like i was in my 2003 V6 CTS.

To each his own though. I am not a fan of most tuner cars, and i'm just trying to tell people my experience with the Z.

I will be modding my Camaro very soon, it will be one fast(er), sexy beast

The weight and the suspension bother me too, most the times it feels like I am navigating a boat around corners. Steering is far from tight and body roll is awful taking a corner at anything other than pretty slow. I dont know how MT managed to run it so fast a Laguna Seca but I am willing to bet it had some kind of upgraded suspension or track tune. Let me know what you decide to get. Think I have decided on the G37 coupe. If you like the 350/370Z, look at the Infiniti too. Good luck.

I am glad I'm not the only one, although you have a V6 which is probably even more of a drop off in power. Yeah the G37 is nice but I'd rather have only 2 seats. One of the things I didn't like about the Camaro in the frist place was 4 seats I have 2 cars don't need both to have 4 seats. 370Z would be better for me than G37. And, everyone I get the fact the Z is less powerful but not that far off the Camaro SS as one mgiht think. But in every other aspect it whoops a SS! I'd rather modify a car to go faster than to have to make it turn and feel crisp behind the wheel!

Well, sorry, you don't like the Camaro. No point in going any further with your comments unless you are looking to see if this can be inflamed to the point on silliness.

Much like many others, on Camaro5, I love my car. It is everything I had hoped for and more. Are there things that I would like to see improved, heavens yes.

So with that Good luck with whatever decision you make. Enjoy whatever vehicle you decide to liv e with.

And Bon Voyage!

Side note;

What amazes me is the way so many people can jsut throw money around like this on any automobiles. Guess, I have a sheltered view of life. I worked hard to put together the money for my car. That's why, I probably enjoy it so much.

Guess I am just too old and out of touch with the times. But then again, this country wasn't mortgaged to the hilt like it is today because of frivilous spending.

The car feels heavier than it is, the vision out of it is very oddly shaped. And this car is not violently quick, which isn't a big deal but after driving a Vette for 4 years it isn't the same. But, I knew the Camaro wouldn't be a Vette. It seems I let the hype and nostalgia of this vehicle persuade me to have to have one in my driveway immediately. I always loved Vettes and Camaros, but once you get past the cool factor of this car and the fact that is has a Vette motor, without the Vette power, it just isn't doing it for me. Please don't flame me for coming on here and giving my honest opinion of the car. I just want others to know what the SS really has to offer.

The fact is I love sports cars and the Camaro is not a sports car it's a sports coupe! Forget the fact that GM is advetising this car as the "Sports Car of the 21st Century!" It is not a sports car. It handles poorly when driving in tight mountain roads which I love to do with my toys. Too much body roll and steering isn't tight enoguh.

I'm afraid that my worst fears have come true about this car. Ever since the first test in the magazine I figured this would happen. This car is great for what it is, but not for someone who really loves sports cars and what sports cars really are. Sports cars are fun to drive in all situations, Camaro doesn't fit the bill all the time. A sports car communicates with its driver at all times, Camaro puts you on hold most of the time. These cars are sports coupes trying to reveive the muscle car era big engines go fast. Yes they obviously turn alot better and brake better than ever, and the Camaro is also very suitable for highway driving and comfortable on bumpy roads, but it isn't enough.

I need to enjoy driving my car and I'm sharing this info for others to read that haven't purchased the Camaro and haven't driven one yet. I'm not saying to listen to me I think you should go drive one. Who knows you mgiht fall in love with one. But, there needs to be criticism here, this fanboy atmosphere of I don't care what you think because you killing the Camaro. I'm entitled to my opinion especially after forking over $35k for a Camaro. And people that haven't purchased one need to see this criticism of the car, because you are on a Camaro forum and it is very unlikely that you will get a non biased opinion because this is the Camaros home for fans.

I've tried to love this car, I really have, but I shouldn't have to. The car has ben so hyped that it falls way short in my opinion. And hopefully GM gets their act together and brings out a Camaro that is better handling and lighter. I will be test driving some 370Z's this weekend and I know they will be a fun car to drive nothing is final in my decision yet, but the Camaro ma have just lost another valued cutomer that GM needs!
The Vette is about 3200 pounds with tighter steering = handles better. The Camaro needs a diet and a tighter suspension. People can get a Caddy or a Buick if they want a comfy ride.

I don't think the Camaro has ever been a "sports car" but the 2010 IMO has kept with the heritage and history of the Camaro. It has dead sexy looks and among its intended competition (Mustang and Challenger) it has done extremely well. Could the handling be better, yes but I suspect that you'll see improvements in the coming year or two. I absolutely love my 2SS/RS M6 and it is exactly what I expected, a Camaro. I order sight unseen (Nov 2008), hadn't even sat in one. For the first model year I think GM has done an amazing job on this car.
Check any letter that was given out to people who preordered if I remember correctly GM wrote in the letter "21st Century Sports car." But like I said it was a marketing gimmick I should've known better I'm in the auto business!

please tell me what cars will beat the SS

and the OP said the SS is not violently quick so what would make a car with less hp and torque quicker

unless he wants a car that weighs less

First off don't ever question how and why I spend my money. To say I don't earn it and throw it around id juts plain foolishness. I was blessed to live with a father who owned his own business. He than became ill and I run it now and work my @ss off to keep it going especially through these economic struggles, you know the one that has put GM behind the 8-Ball! And its the frivilous spending of those that don't have the money they borrow that put us in this mess such as GM. It's those people that sit home and rely on the liberals and their values to give them a handout because they are lazy and live beyond their means that put us in this mess. But, don't worry I'm doing fine because I work my @ss off everyday therefore I'm entitled to do what I please with the $ I earn year in and year out!

I'm glad your happy with your Camaro that you spent your hard earned dollar on, but if you weren't happy with it you would be upset that you spent it, am I correct? I just expect to get enjoymeny out of what I spen my money on. But like America these days and the direction it is gonig in the Camaro is a dissapointment in my opinion in which I'm entitled to, because I'm an American. Although, who knows how much longer we will all be entitled to our opinions with the communist and socialistic direction this country is headed towards. In which I guarantee you if it does most of us won't have these cars, because we won't have money and we'll all be equally poor. This country is based on Capitalism which is what made us the powerhouse we once were.
