As for the gas guzzler....If I recall correctly GM and Ford both have stated their vehicles did not meet the requirements of a "guzzler" as far as taxation laws are concerned. I believe the Challenger is in a league of its own on that one....

Geez, guys. The Challenger SRT8 has a gas guzzler tax, just like the Charger SRT8 and Chrysler 300C SRT8. Its because it has a significantly higher fuel consumption rating versus the R/T Line. Those taxes are not on the Charger R/T or the 300C. Most likely you will find the same situation when the Challenger R/T hits the market.

Also, on a slightly divergent note. I wish folks would quit bashing the challenger SRT8 because of it's high price. It is what it is the Halo Vehicle in the Challenger lineup right now. Just like the Shelby GT500KR is the top of the Mustang Lineup.

Either way, I am patiently awaiting the ability to head to my Chevy dealer and place an order.
