![]() i'll tell you what, i love the LS motors. i've been a ford guy all my life. had a bad ass cobra, harley truck, etc. my brother had an 02' z28. we battled constantly. anyways, i'm glad i got the bowtie cuz ford wasn't offering me what i wanted in my price range. i love this car, wasn't even planning on buying it. it totally reminds me of my bro's old ls1. great cars. just this one's evolved.

If you are only talking performanc, it obviously takes a LOT better driver to make a manual perform....usually. However, don't forget there a lot of other advantages to a manual than sheer 0-60 performance. They are lighter, they usually hold up better, they come in handy in situations where you can get in a downshift BEFORE accelerating..such as high way passing, and they beat an automatic on curvy mountain roads for sheer fun factor and those break saving down shifts all day long...
Edit: i left out that manuals are often rated for higher gas mileadge as well.. plus it helps when someone wants to borrow your car that you really don't want in it and you say "can you drive a stick?" and then they go ask someone else. :P |

I wish the current camaro was an LS1. They weren't slow, and probably lower the cost of the car a bit.
Maybe offer a 6.2 liter LS3 in the Z-28 |

Given the weight of the 5th gen it would be a turd with an LS1. Think about it... the LS3 is barely enough to power it to the 12s and you want to take away some of the power?

(mine nore my friend's camaro has no preformance mods what so ever) 2001 Camaro ss ls1=412HP not 325 stock 2010 Camaro ss ls3=480HP not 426 stock Proven by the dyno

There's NO way those cars ran those times without performance mods. OR making the power your stating stock. |

Yea they use to dyno 260 to 280
and the current Camaro SS dynos 370 give or take some with 15% drivetrain loss that doesnt equal those numbers. Now dont get me wrong the old LS1 Camaros were rockets but your not trapping 115mph stock. No one I know has done it. No magazine has done it. Best I have ever seen is 108mph with DA in their favor. Car probably has a cam maybe ported heads and/or intake and you dont know it. Cam alone I think would get you to a trap of 115mph.

Not one even broke 110mph ...

Of course that was magazine tests. The 40K price tag for the LT4 was also pretty stout.
