Maybe it did. But look at how the box came from UPS. I hate UPS, they've lost college textbooks, busted 3 day deliveries, and once declared no one was home when I was off from work all day.

I'll have to go through the packing list and make sure everything's there.

I am new to this car modification area so forgive me if my questions are silly or too elementary. I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to explain to me how much increase in hp and torque does a CAI add. Does it help flatten the hp and torque curve vs rpm (increase hp and torque at lower rpms)? What other advantages does it have for a normal drive (not a race car)?

Thanks,
irvinecamaro

Everything looks OK I think. The only thing I'm not sure about is the "MAF wiring grommet." I'm assuming it's already mounted on the "MAF housing."

Suggestion for ADM: be helpful to have pictures or line drawings of each piece so noobs (like me!) will know what the "AC clamp" and "MAF Grommet" look like.

Some helpful pics are on the website(Under Instructions). You must be logged in to access them,In other words you must be a customer!Keeps the prying eyes away.

That really sucks about your box,it was clearly opened and then reclosed by somebody at UPS.That tape bonds to the cardboard and has fiberglass weave in it....it does not just do that on its own.

I am going to take that picture and file a complaint with them tommorow.

The only part of the fiberglass tape intact was the top right portion. UPS isn't what it used to be, I think. Newegg switched from FedEx to UPS for their standard shipping a while ago and buyers left a lot of comments about how they'd rather pay more than put up with UPS' shoddy shipping. From what I've experienced, I agree with them.

I logged in ok and found the pictures. I'm going to try to put it in after work.

ADM,
The MAF housing I got doesn't look anything like this picture. It's just a straight tube with the MAF housing welded on on top of a raised pedestal. There's no sealant tape nor a raised shoulder like in the picture to put it if I had it, so the entire filter/MAF housing has play in it since it doesn't seat against the box.

We made a change to the housing,Much lighter version. This is pretty normal with new products that meets the market. We have also made 3 filter changes as well, all have been tested and verify the same power increase. The power/performance has not changed, only the installation.

Hope this helps

Andy

The original housing was selected from a local vender in the DFW area. As we had more and more intakes deployed and a wider and wider data sample we discerned that we may have been getting some heat soak from the larger block of metal in the 1st housing design. As a result we have made changes to the housing. As with anything we develop, we may find additional ways to improve the design as we do you can expect we will improve the product to ensure we are giving you the very best product we can build.

The housing in the picture has the EXACT same outside diameter on the portion that protrudes the air box as the new piece. That section inserts into the silicone piece and the silicone piece has not changed. The MINOR amount of clearance in the side plate and the housing is normal for ease of installation and it was the same in both housings. Seat the new design SENSOR BLOCK up against the side panel and press the silicone onto the housing maintaining a smooth linear path through sections.

Pat

P.S. - I have been in the shop lending hands to Andy as he has been overwhelmed by orders and builds. It has made a tremendous difference in ADM's turn around time on orders. I have been involved with some of the design changes with this peticular system and can speak from a point of knowledge of ADM's HIGHFLOW INTAKE AIR BOX product and development.
