Jason is shipping out the ported intake manifold and the overkill 80mm throttle body tomorrow. Im having it all installed the next two weeks with my turbo build with controllable boost gauges. Im really pumped and on 14lbs am expecting around 550rwhp!

Thanks to those who've made purchases!
Jason at Jacfab did some flow bench testing and, on an unported manifold, he saw a 4% flow gain with the 80mm over the factory throttle body. Thank you to him for testing and sharing that. I'll add a dropdown menu to the product page for a silicone coupler to go with the throttle body at no charge. For Rotofabs for example, it's an easy adapt, just measure your Rotofab tube diameter and select the right size (likely a 3.5"). For CAI Inc kits, it's not as easy. I'll email CAI, ask if they have anything instock that's similar and would work. I may have to buy a CAI kit and redo the silicone bend with some off the shelf silicone and aluminum tubing but if this helps those with those intake kits (which judging from the emails I've gotten it will) then I'll set myself to it. |

I've been thinking about that myself. Should be very easy to modify the stock CAI silicone tube to accept the bigger tb.

When I made my own CAI- I found LOTS of tapered silicone elbows on the internet and for cheap. I did a 3.5 to 4.0 elbow on mine and it was $13. That shouldn't be a problem at all.

What, if anything will this produce in hp / torque numbers? Would there be more gains if the larger TB was ported? I don't know if Vmax can do it, but Bo White should be able to.

As far as I can tell, no one currently CNC ports this particular TB... Not saying they wouldn't, but it's been around for a couple years now and they still aren't messing with it, so I wouldn't hold my breath. Bo would do it, but you gotta catch him when he isn't busy, and it's hard to say if this TB could even be half shafted like the LS3/L99 TB's... When I was reselling Bo's throttle bodies, I had him do a handful of LFX units, but they couldn't be disassembled to do the half shaft mod without being destroyed. That was a bummer. The half shaft mod is where it's at on anything! |

You can see in Yzark99's signature pic that the CAI elbow is likely a 110* or so bend, not something typical off the shelf. It appears to reduce through the bend from 3.5" to 3".
I have thoughts on replicating it but will need to get a CAI kit in hand. The other alternative is to just 90* it off the throttle body and replace the tubing and MAF housing with new parts. I always have 3.5" housings on the shelf to upgrade other LFX platforms, the rest would be easy. |

80mm Throttle Body for the LFX
It's closer to a 4" ID on the filter end... The metal tube has thick ass wall thickness on it so they can use the same filter (4" flange inlet) on both the v6 and v8 units.
