We spend so much time parked on it we are on a first named basis.

Just like "the" garage, "the" house, "the" strip club....

Just today right after work I was driving through parts of a nearby city to get home and some dickstick in his Toyota Prius was holding up so much traffic that was blocking a major intersection so I pulled up near him and watched him as the light was red for me and his face simply put: NOT ONE F GIVEN. He pretty much could care less that he was stalling traffic.

So I rolled my window down and got his attention and ripped him a new one just to satisfy me since I've been really irritated with drivers this past couple of weeks. I know I was wrong for talking shit, but I'm over these nutjobs!

Then I take a spin to Redwood City and on the way there on the 101 some jackass was riding the back of my car so I rolled my window down and gave him a "Back off motion" with my hands. he or she respected my wish and backed off! I won't flip people off because that's sinking really low but sometimes I have that urge to!

If you know anyone who is hiring for PD Dispatch, drop me a note. I'm trying to land a job in dispatching to make a better income to make up for all the bills I pay to stay alive.
Lol I hear ya. I know once I hit Walnut Creek, or Fairfleld that I am nearing the idiocy of tbe bay. And your exactly right it is usually a Prius in the wrong lane holding up traffic, like its their responsibility that everyone must get better MPG. So there for they will hold everyone up trying to hyper mile. When Im out in the Camaro it is hard not to mess with them a bit. I have passed a few with the tires spinning and the rear stepping out a bit..... not with intent of course. In the Sac valley you need to drive at 80 just to keep pace.

Im in the heavy industry trade, but if I hear of something I will drop you a message.

In all seriousness, you pay a huge premium on everything here. Weather, gas, taxes, taxes, registration, taxes, wait I think I'm missing something.....Did I say taxes? Property tax is 1.8ish % and depending on the area it can go over 2.2%, most areas you are paying a premium for a nice house but in reality you are getting a house that is considered a mediocre house elsewhere (example, my house in say Texas would be on 1/2 an acre and cost just over $200k, my house is actually on a 7700 sq ft lot and cost more than 3X's that much).

I live in a nice area, I know its nice because its where the little thieving bastards come with they want new shit. So my property taxes are higher, I pay for schools I do not have kids in, we are in a drought because water is being diverted because of a damn fish that isn't supposed to be in a specific waterway, and we have been ordered to stop outdoor watering until March. So I have a big(ish) house with a dead lawn, break-ins in broad daylight while responsible adults are at work and I'm getting taxed over $1.57 per gallon on gas ($2.55 yesterday for 87 octane). Don't even get me started on the winter/summer blend for gas here.

Meanwhile the local police department sets up speed traps to generate revenue instead of trying to find the idiots breaking into houses and stealing cars, tools, etc out of peoples driveways.

God forbid you want to buy a gun.......

I've lived here almost all of my life (spent 5 years on the east coast while in the military, rest of my career was here) and I've watched it sink lower and lower every year. My wife is taking a job in San Antonio later this year and we are running as fast as we can. I love the weather, but there is only so much crap you can be expected to put up with for 85* February days.
In Austin; Travis County, property taxes are pretty high. From at least 2.2%-3.9% in some areas. But at least we don't have ridiculous laws and income tax!

What's it like? I don't know, I moved away from there 23 years ago. Would I move back there? Hell no! I can say all this because I was born there, but that wasn't my choice.
