An XM antenna is located in the side view mirror housing.

Isn't there a way to replace the fin with a flat receiver? I swear I've seen flat squares on some cars (unsure what atm) for their receivers.

honestly it makes the vehicle look more upscale IMO, everyone thinks I got a huge raise at work which of course is nonsense. Insurance increase and extra monies for the payment total less than a hundred dollars. everyone thinks my ride is alot more expensive than it really is. IMO that's a good thing and the Fin adds to that impression!

I believe the shark fin is because of the satellite radio not the OnStar?? I say that because my dads BMW and moms Acura both have the fin which have satellite radio but they of course don't have OnStar.

Well the thing about satellite, is it pretty much comes directly down (in relation to our cars anyway), so with this said the raised portion of the fin doesn't matter. The only thing I can see that being used for is the radio, or onstar RF. But even with a flush mounted square reciever, that gradually raises up to about 1-2 inches in the center, would work sufficently for these components....just my $0.02

Matte Black Giovanna Dalar 5V: 20x8.5 & 20x10 wheels Mods in the future: Relocating guts of "shark fin" and removing it, cam, super charge/turbo?...unsure what after that... Gotta have MORE power!!
