First coat of adhesive promoter currently drying.

Damn getting those bezels off was a pain in the ass! My index fingers are numb and I still broke two clips total. Not a big deal since even with those broke it was a pain to get off, but still! Crap! Hehe. More to come....

It looks really good.

I didn't paint mine, I had them coated in hydro carbon fiber. When you stand back just a little, they look black.

Damn it, I wish I knew where I could get this done....for cheap. Still working on the paint on one last bezel...keeps hazing for some reason. Gonna re-sand it again tomorrow and try again.

These all look awesome. No idea why they come CHROMED from the factory.. that just looks stupid to me (same with the bowties, etc) Chrome is for my Vrod.

Also done! Thanks again for the writeup!

Just a note in case it's not in the original post; I recommend starting with the bottom clips on the bezels to remove. Then release the side and top clips.

Question

The black bezels rock! But I'm still confused by the removal process. The UTube video shows loosening the bumper slightly from the trunk area access. Others sound like you can just go at it by sliding something into the clips from the rear of the car/taillight area itself. Can all of the clips be accessed this way?
What are you using to make sure nothing gets scratched?
Thanks

Open the trunk and take the plastic covers off the left and right side via those pull tabs. Make sure you pop the center piece of the pull tab straight up before attempting to remove the entire tab. Once you get all three of those off you can remove the plastic cover above the tail lights. From there you can look in over the top of the tail lights and see where the top two clips of the bezels attach. There's two on the top, two on the bottoms and one on each side of each bezel. Take a look at the previous posts as well (page 3) that show the bezels already removed and you'll get an idea for what you need to do to get them off. I have relatively small hands so I was able to squeeze it down to the bottom without loosening the bumper or anything. I should have used something to wedge those bezels off though cause my fingers were pretty blistered afterward with how much force at the weird angle I had to apply. I was trying to hold the clips depressed and push outward at the same time while trying not to break the clips. Took me about 30 minutes at least to get all 4 off. Hope this helps.

Sounds good Inferno - thanks. Sounds like you can get at all the clips from the trunk access tail light area. Getting to the far outside lamp clips must be fun.

Definitely a squeeze. One guy on here said he had is daughter reach her hands in there to do it (if your hands are too big). Maybe even employ a size 2 GF (girlfriend) wrench.
