Deal breakers for me:

1) Price - I just built a Mustang GT Premium with a few extras on Ford's site to compare and it came to $32,000 ($28,375 +$795 delivery is base price).

2) Quality - some GM vehicles I've owned and ridden in in the past have had very cheap feeling interiors. Rattles, squeaks, cheap plastic, etc.

3) Insurance - if this thing costs a fortune to insure, I'm out.

I plan to buy the SS with possibly the RS package depending on what options we can get individually. I want leather, HUD, 20s, nice stereo, 6spd manual, 425 horses.

The weight of the car is a concern for me, but I don't plan on racing, so it's not a HUGE deal.

I can't settle for a V6. I've always wanted a V8 muscle car.

I've owned foreign cars for the past 15 years (Toyota and Honda) so I'm a little spoiled by their high quality, so cheap interior or poorly fitting panels will be a big turn off for me.

From what I've read on this site, it seems the engineers took a lot of pride in designing this vehicle and the fact that they took input from folks planning on purchasing one is outstanding. I hope the line workers and parts producers for aseembly take that same pride in this vehicle.

This won't be my daily driver, so gas mileage, although an concern, is not a deal breaker since this will be a weekend "fun" car.

THe Deal breaker to me will be a Crappy Dealer. Any dealer that tries to have their way with me (in the Biblical sense) will see my posterior rather quickly. High pressure junk, will also turn me away.

Be fair, be courteous, and most of all, don't jack me around.

You do and any chance of a deal is dead!

I mean, I've been saving for a while and guessing at the price so mark ups would keep me from buying one immediately but I don't think that will be a problem cuz I'm Camaro Scotty's bandwagon.

I know, At one time I lived out in Frederick County and the situaton dealing with any major dealer was frustrating to say the least.

I am starting my search for an appropriate individual with which to deal here in hte Southwest Chicagoland area.

"The Camaro will be priced competitively with the Mustang."

(And this is my personal belief; that the RS package on the SS will be the equivilant of going from GT Deluxe to GT Premium on the Mustang....)
"The Camaro will be priced competitively with the Mustang," hmmm...doesn't it bother you though that the Camaro was supposed to be on a diet? After all, they supposidly "called Jenny Craig" so that our beloved Camaro wouldn't be a fat pig like the GTO, GT500, and Challenger (no offense if you own one).

But Realistically... what will be a 'deal breaker' concerning this car.

i know the only thing that will do it in for me, is price
The price

So, a 6cyl car with ~340hp and just a little over 3,000lbs seems pretty nice.
Although I have had an ls1 SS and ws6, I'm starting to feel my attitude shift towards smaller, better handling cars. And before everyone jumps down my throat that the SS will be a great handling car, it did only beat the much cheaper cobalt by 2 seconds on the Nurburgring.
So all that being said:
<35k for the top all the bells and whistles SS = buy
>35K = Buy 370z or possibly used c6
im not sure how many spy shots you have seen... but wait till you see the rear of the car
