Resurrected this older thread...Because I just bought battery number 3. (including the OE) I'd park and listen to the radio and it was too sluggish for my liking on restarting. Been a couple hot summers in CA but weather as usual. It does do a fair amount of sitting in the winter. Didn't want it to strand me. Just not lucky in love with Camaro batteries. Best I can figger is it was right at 7 years old.

And... The Auto Zone 'Duralast' was $262 and change. Great business to be in!

Update. The og battery went from May 7 09 to May 8 2024. Guess I’ll take that I really thought it should go longer but what do I know.

Did it just keel over or give you signs? Like sluggish starts, weird electrical stuff, etc?

It was progressively getting slower to start over the last 3-4 months unless I had it on the tender. Only on the first start. Once it ran a bit it would be fine for a couple days. If it sat anymore than that it would be sluggish. I changed it when I started it one day and got the dreaded abs/traction control lights. Also the remote start started working intermittently when it would sit as well.

Insanity. I (reluctantly) live in CA and never had one last that long. Exhaust, yes. Battery, no.
