At this time, the dealers do not have a procedure for reading out ECU records. I'm not even convinced these records exist in the ECU at all (unlike Delphi units, used in the V8s, we have not found evidence of this in the Bosch units used in the LLT cars). Even with the Delphi units, the dealer does not have a procedure for checking these records, only whether the current tune is a "stock" tune or not.
wow..if this is indeed the case.....you're really tempting me.
Can't wait to read all the feedback regarding this tune over the next few weeks.

Besides fuel, spark, cam phasing, and DTC control, we have RPM limits, and fan speeds mapped out. The speedo calibration shouldn't be a problem but the speed limiter is a little more tricky. According to the tune for the car we did on the dyno the speed limiter was set to around 100 MPH but we topped out 4th gear on the dyno without being shut down (around 150MPH).

One trend that has been growing is the ECM no longer controls the speed limiter directly - it is controlled by one or more other modules in the car via the car's internal communication network. That appears to be the case for the car we tested on Friday. We may be able to change this back to the ECM's control directly and then specify a different speed limiter value.

Hi Vince,

Would this tune be able to control the RPMs on a cold start up? I have the MRT Axle-back kit v1.0 on my Camaro and while I love the roar on the road, it shakes the hell out of my house each morning.

In theory, yes. Effectively? That may be a different story. There's a complex sequence of events that occurs during a cold startup including alternate cam phasing and timing events designed to get the emissions system active in as short amount of time as possible. We can certainly lower the desired idle speed, but the engine may not run reliably if we do this.

Hi Vince, I know this is probably a low priority but do you guys think you could work on the speedometer/odometer profiles for different tire/wheel combinations than stock? I went to a 19 inch wheel and 295/30-19 tires and apparently GM doesn't have a program yet for that tire size :(

This should be doable.

interesting..almost like they dont want it to be changed.

I forgot to congratulate y'all for being the first to offer a tune.
How does the cam phasing make the exhaust sound? It has a rasp in the 2k to 3k under light load but not under a load. Guessing this was the VVT but have no idea. Thought it was an overlap.

Yep - it could be related to the tire pressure monitoring (TPM) stuff, too. My Corvette had a flat tire one day, and when I started it up, one of the things the DIC said was "speed limited to 55 MPH". The TPM is separate from the ECM so it probably tells the ECM not to allow a speed over 55 MPH.

It seems like different cars have different speed limiter values based on the equipment they came with - someone on this thread earlier said they hit their limiter at 118 MPH but our test car would go to at least 150 MPH on the dyno (we didn't hit the limiter at all)...

The owner of the test car said the car sounded different to him.

If it was a RS, it isn't speed limited to 118. They have tires similar to the SS.

This is pretty awesome. I'm seriously considering it.

I saw someone mentioned premium fuel. Is that a necessity/strongly recommended with this tune? Regular gas is one of the reasons I wanted the LLT. Any idea what this tune will do to overall mpg's yet?
