Bung installed. Sensor installed. CAI delivered. All that is left is the bypass and if I get confirmation today that it is on its way I will begin tear down tonight.

Going to start with removing the front end, since I will have to for install of the heat exchanger. I figure that will make it easier to get at everything. Almost two months to get to this point.

Emergency. Was just informed by the shop where I ordered my kit from that the supercharger bypass I ordered a month ago is not coming. It is the last part I need for the build. It is part No. 19180859.

Anyone? Anyone? LSA Blower laying in the corner? Pull off that bypass and sell it. Vendor and have one on the shelf (not ordered, you won’t get one for at least 15 days)?

Found bypass at Dickey Scroggin. Started tear down tonight. Found that front fascia was missing 2 of the 10mm bolts that hold it on. Got fuel line off of drivers side, but passenger side is stubborn, will get it tomorrow. Disconnected ignition lines. Only got an hour on it tonight, but the real work has BEGUN. Clear coated beauty cover and mounted the snout to the lower for the third and final time. More tear down tomorrow.

Tear down almost complete. Harmonic balancer bolt is no joke. Dropped a wrench behind the intake when I was taking off the LS3 intake. But overall everything is moving along great.

Looking at the timing chain cover I am so tempted to do a cam. My bank account doesn’t agree. There is a little oil around the edge of the valve covers. Thinking of pulling those and putting on new gaskets.

The fuel line connection on the passenger side has not come off yet. I have the fuel line removal tool but it just won’t budge. When I push down on the upper line the lower line moves down too so it isn’t really sliding together well. I don’t want to use pliers and pinch the line. Tricks?

Pinned the crank pulley today, not gonna lie, that took a long time. Put on ZL1 crank pulley, 250 foot pound torque was also no joke. Put on LSX Innovations belt conversion kit, went on great. Tomorrow the blower is going on and we will see how far I get on everything else.

Awesome update. Snapped a water pump bolt yesterday. Had to drill it out and retap. Yesterday was a total loss, except that I learned that water pump bolt torque spec is less than 37 foot pounds.
Back at it today.

Almost done. Lower and lid mounted today.
1/2 plugs in, getting sensors and PCV figured out.

Belt isn’t quite lined up and need to move my pulleys around a bit to get tension right. Might need a different belt.

Nice progress. Couple questions are you running a Fpcm? Also are you using any harness extensions for anything?

I’m not running an Fpcm, I upgraded my injectors but not the fuel pump. I have a dual pump but my tuner has suggested I won’t need it. I might change my mind in a month and add it then, or an external boost pump.

I got harness extensions for all of the connections from West Michigan Automotive Tech. I hate wiring so getting harness that are clean and soldered was worth the investment for me.

Update. Getting close. Installed the heat exchanger went well. Hooked up hoses to heat exchanger. Ran into a bit of a dilemma in mounting the reservoir and IC pump. No room in there to get my drill in there. I got some self tapping screws and I can’t get my electric screwdriver in there to get them going either. Went to hardware store to get a low profile drill. Milwaukee $400, not getting that. Didn’t see anything else that doesn’t require getting an air tank. Going to the tool rental shop tomorrow to see what they might have. Also, not sure how to wire up the electrical for the pump. Looking at Don’s instructions and the instructions that came with my kit I am not exactly clear where to plug things in.

Post where you mounted your pump and reservoir, I either need a trick to mount where it has been suggested or an alternative place to mount.

Also, post how the pump wiring goes. I have a pigtail for the pump itself and a ground, that runs to a relay and an in line fuse. Then there is a yellow wire that connects to a plug in fuse for the fuse box and another ground. There isn’t a hot wire to run to the power like described or in the picture. I also don’t know if it matters where I plug in the fuse to the fuse box.

I can go look and see where my fuse is plugged in for my pump. It matters because you want it to be powered with key on voltage. My pump i mounted in front of the rf tire to the frame in line with the radiator. i can't get a picture of that without removing my wheel liner but i have a whipple so it's probably a different pump.

My fuse plugin used spot 15 in the underhood fuse block.

Just checked back in and what do you know. I found the same suggestions maybe about an hour after I posted here. I’m going the same route so this turned into a confirmation thanks.
