I now have information for everyone except Mark (who I think said he was undecided right now). Therefore unless someone tells me the route has changed, I am going to start actively researching the hotel accomodations this weekend.

Just a friendly reminder - I'm hoping to get good quality rooms for cheap. But the savings means that (i) we're committed to bookings when I do make them and (ii) we most likely will have to pay up front. So for everyone who has signed up, I may be calling you in the next few weeks to pony up your share so I can pay the bill. We'll see what arrangements I can make. if anyone is concerned about that, please tell me now.

Here's the updated list as it stands now:

The Montreal Group:

RickRay = Rick & Rachael / 1 Car = Both Ways
Christcringle = Christ & Sue / 1 car = Both Ways
ACS Composite = Joseph & Guest / 1 car + 1 truck = Down only
Hiney1 = Cindy and Gary / 1 car = Down Only
Luckynuts = Dave & Karen / 1 Car = Both ways
CanadianCamaro = Scott & guest / 1 car = Both Ways
2MuchMark = He will probably decide the week before the trip

All for now - Stay tuned to this thread for further updates.
Hi Scott...No route change as of today: Thanks again for the Hotel search.

Can't wait for this ride to happen!! I am not a new maro owner but my first trip to Georgia (or Jennings FL) was a disaster, I crashed my bike at the track and got a free helicopter ride to Jacksonville FL !!

Anyways this is going to be a blast !

Any other Kanucks travelling the Detroit route ?

mrbrans5 is going your way isn't he? I think the rest of us are going in the ACC (All Canuck Caravan) which is currently planned to be fully assembled once we reach Harrisburg PA. It's a bit more milage for me going that way rather than Detroit route - but s/b a riot to be riding with the Montreal crew

PS - Keep working on TJ91 to go. Maybe he'll go via Detroit

FYI to the All Canadian Caravan

Canadian Tire ahs a bunch of Canada stuff on sale this week b/c of the Olympics in case anyone wants to look for some stuff to display their Canadian spirt during the fest - or any time for that matter.

I picked up a couple 3x5 Canadian Flags for $10 each - regularly $23 each. Now i just need to decide which of these 22' flag poles I'm looking at on Ebay I'm going to buy . Everyone will be able to easily find the Canadian cars at the fest

Hey Scott..............after you shank a few with that new R9 maybe you can use it to hang a flag from. A flag on each half after you snap it over your knee!!!!!

Funny very funy...... and probably true

Expensive... and heavy. Looks kinda cheap quality. I've got my eye on some on eBay. Looking at an extendable 22' fiberglass pole with a tire stand. Swivel clips to fly 2 flags, No pulleys etc., just drive 1 car wheel onto the base, extend the pole, clip the flags and pop 'er in the stand. Done. A bit pricy but I can use it at the cottage etc.

Attn: All Canadian's Attenting C5 Fest:

Thankfully my wife just reminded me of something rather important (ok maybe I'm just forgetful). Check Your Passport and Do It Soon!!!

Still plenty of time to get one - but we're approaching the 7 week mark () and before we know it we'll be 4 weeks away - and then you could be screwed. Passports are required even for land boarder crossings now so don't be disappointed

FYI, if you go to a passport office to file for it you should receive it in the mail in less than 2 weeks, mine took 9 days.

Well.... you have to go to a passport office in person either way (either to pick it up or drop it off - at least you used to). True they can do a rush - you just have to specify a departure date (there might be an extra charge for this - not sure). And if really in a rush you can go to the main office in Ottawa and get it same day apparently. The times go up and down based on demand. I haven't looked at their site in a while as to what they are recommending but the last I did they said plan on 4 weeks min. I think mine came in 3. But I've heard of others taking much longer. Better to not take the chance

Hotel Update

Attention All Canuck Caravan - All hotel rooms for the trip down and the return trip have now been booked. I'll send a PM to each of you later this week with your details.

For anyone who is a late addition to the Caravan - We can get rooms for you along with our group however the closer to the event we get the tougher it will be to get rooms at the same cheap rates.
