Thanks! It looks even better now. I got everything but the GFX splitter on today. I ran into a slight snag putting it back together but made it thru. In the accident the lower front fender mount that’s welded to the unibody headlight hoop if you will got pushed in about an inch and a half or so. It took some persuading but I was able to get it close enough with a bfh and block of wood to make everything line up be happy. All in all the paint match is damn good and everything else went smooth. I’m glad this part of it all is done.
It needs that splitter in a bad way! The front looks so tame haha. I need to do a few 100+ runs to blow the stupid stickers of the new radiator duct my dumb ass forgot to remove.

So happy to see it nearly back together again!
Just the other day my friend was commenting on how he liked blue Camaros, so I sent him the link to this page. This car is the most beautiful Aqua Blue Camaro out there now. |

Thanks Jeph! I appreciate the kind words. I hope your friend enjoyed things so far. I’ve got some big plans in the not too distant future… time and money lol.
I pulled the bumper this morning and got rid of those pesky stickers thst were showing thru the grill. Looks a lot better now. I took it back to the shop that painted the bumper and fender this week, they finished polishing out the paint and it really looks good now. Here’s another picture I took earlier in the week. Although I have the GM GFX splitter, I’m presently trying to decide if I want to go that route or run a Z28 style similar to what Wayne runs on ruby. Lately I’ve been feeling more aggressive than the GFX piece.

I detailed the paint yesterday to include buffing with a white hexlogic pad, and chemical guys 38 fine polishing compound. I pulled some water spot etching and light contamination out and brought the paint to life. I try to do this every fall and spring to keep the paint healthy.

I think the meguiars line is better overall, I have a shelves full of both companies products and meguiars is hard to go wrong with for a fairly easy to find product.

Car looks great as always!
I have used Chemical guys also, but I'm still a sucker for Zaino Brothers...

Well I missed the spring polish because I was working like crazy. I got around to it last weekend with a very fine machine polish with a white hex logic and a machine wax with a black hex logic and Maguiers wax. It came out really nice. Today I added a JRE transmission dipstick that I’ve had floating around for a few years now.

Nice to see the great maintenance on the Paint. I recently purchased the Chem Guys Speed Wipes/Quick Detailers, and I like them - as good as Meguiars. Work best when the car is cool or they can streak/mottle, as is the case for most of the Quick Detailers.
And - from the other thread - I've wondered why a JRE Dipstick was installed as a mod. That is because I only recently have a L99/Auto Trans in my Bandit Conversion, and never paid close atttention to see if there was a Dipstick for the Trans Fluid. Sounds like they only use a Plug, and then with that how do you check fluid level? I see the pic you posted of the Plug and it looks like you can just pull it out (no threads). |

Yep that’s exactly right. Your L99/6L80 wasn’t built with a dipstick from the factory. That plug I posted is in place of the dipstick and is actually the fill plug. To check the fluid you have to get the car up in the air and level. With the engine running, transmission in park, and up to temp per a scan tool, there’s a bolt that looks like a drain plug in the back of the pan that you remove. If you remove the bolt and get no fluid it’s low. If you pull the bolt and get a slow dribble it’s good. If you pull the bolt and it pours out it’s over full, let it run until it’s a slow dribble then it’s good. It’s all incredibly stupid. I can’t decide if I believe more that GM was being cheap or trying to force people to the dealer for service. Mine still with a factory fill, no leaks and 10,000 miles was close to a qt low. That’s irritating, with no easy way to check it. Mind you the fill plug is only a few inches from the exhaust, and fluid has to be pumped in without a dipstick.
I use those wipes from time to time, they do pretty good. I think next time around I’m going play around with sealers before I wax. I’ve never messed with them before but want to try it out.
