Kickin my butt for never starting a build thread on my Camaro! Never thought/dreamed for a moment back then that I would have ever gone this far with my Camaro mods, but here I am with what I have created so far!

Sweeeet! I am excited. Been researching as best I can about it and I feel good about the choice.

Browsed multiple times I will take you up on the recommendation! Not sure when will appear, but hopefully within a couple months or so (have some chaos with the calendar coming up...).

JEWLD, I would never have thought of it and I honestly don't currently feel like I would have needed to (not sure how far I will go). But I guess you never know where will end up... your sweet ride is a testament to that!

CD76, I will likely "learn" from your thread... really like how it's done. Excited to see the 1,200 HP updates coming!

Perfect time to start one since you plan on some boost.

Yeah, you're right there! I never thought I'd be able to go this far, but once I got going I had a vision of what I wanted to achieve, and I did it. Wanted a mean performing/sounding, aggressive looking street car that looked like a menacing road race car, even though I don't track it. Goal achieved! More stuff going on in my mind for the future, maybe. lol.

Yeah, just not sure when that will happen, but it is on my mind to start one this next time.

Glad you like it. Super simple mod, quick install and so worth it. I also noticed the biggest improvement on those downshift rev matches.

The porting process seems so subtle. Interesting it makes such a difference! I really tried to feel the differences between the two units, stock vs. ported. It was clear where they had removed material to smooth out the "edge" where angle changed. Of course, the milling of blade post also on both sides.

I am not sure if I can pinpoint exactly WHERE the performance differences are... just feels snappier all around, at anyplace in the rpm band. Would that be the throttle response you guys are talking about? I was thinking it was going be only a "below 2k rpm" thing, but feel like more responsive kind of everywhere. Love it!

Do either of you recall the computer having to relearn idle speed? Drove another 30-40 minutes today and it seemed to hunt 50% of the time at a stop, but seemed to be progressing in right direction also. I suppose could be a leak? Gasket seemed like new and very clean and I did not touch any hose connections. Normal relearn process?

Love the "more smiles per mile" rating method... definitely true!

Thats the throttle response we were talking about. Doesnt matter where but the input of throttle is much more direct and much less lag. As far as the surging goes, that may be due to how aggressive the port is. On Bo's stage 3 i had a surging at steady RPM, hencewhy i run his stage 2. It didnt hunt at idle speed but constant rpm and throttle position it would surge. I dont know how much you torqued the TB down but I always went hand tight just slightly over snug. Careful enough to not snap the bolt.
The material that gets removed is a hump on the lower portion right before the blade opening. So depending how aggressive that port is, the car may be seeing too much air at idle.

Okay, cool! As I get more minutes of driving logged, I am noticing more the responsiveness. Where I know there used to be a slight lag (didn't realize... but now do), it is gone for sure. I feel like the idle surge is getting better by the day, but also surprised it would take this long to relearn? I will double check my bolts... I hand tightened maybe just a bit past "snug", but think good. Here are some side-by-side pics of the TBs. Hard to see differences, but thought would share anyway.

Had basically a "back to normal" idle day today. I read in a thread somewhere on here that can take 5 or 6 drive cycles to relearn. I would swear this car is faster now. I noticed my old TB was not fully returning to its closed/rest position (can see in pics) and very dirty. I wonder if was running a bit compromised and now fully restored? Grin keeps getting bigger!

Yes sir! If you think that little bit of "new" throttle response is cool, just wait until you do LT's, or LT's AND a cam. When we did my LT's my tuner told me to be careful with the throttle pedal now! He said that it will "be very sensitive" now, not like it used to be. The factory tune is set to NOT let the TB to open fully to 100% at WOT, so you would only get about 80-85 % opening, and so forth through the RPM range from idle up to WOT. After he tuned it, it had a "hair trigger"! You just touch it and bam, RPM's up, wow, I never knew the stock tune was so docile. And after the tune he said that now the TB blade at floored, WOT throttle will be fully open! And accordingly throughout the RPM range, half throttle-50%, 3/4 throttle-75%. It was like trying to drive an entire new car, and walk on egg shells until I got the feel of it. Love it.. That was my first tune experience with this Camaro..
