My 4th gen ('95 Z28 6sp) AC lasted 10 years. Then, I had to replace it, and the replacement lasted only 3 years. It was cold, but not as cold as a '95 Nissan Sentra that I rented right before I bought the Z28.

Well, my A/C stopped working today along with my DIC giving me a "A/C Off Due to High Engine Temp" warning. But I suspect this is a fuse/electrical problem as it directly coincided with my engine temperature guage not working. Additionally, I still get this warning after the engine has been sitting for over 3 hours.

Funny that I stumbled on this thread. Today after about a 100 mile drive we dropped off the Camaro and headed out run some errands in our HHR SS. the A/C in the little SS absolutely beats down the A/C in the Camaro. Something has to be wrong. I'm taking it in.

I've found that after cooling my car down, I can go into a store and do about 30min of shopping, come out and the interior is still chilly. And that's in the Texas heat.

As for the A/C, I have a V6 and mine is pretty darn cold.

Although- not as cold as Mark A Collier Sr's !!!!!
Lighten up Francis, its a joke. Google "set us up the bomb" and look for vids.

My AC is fine, I have to turn it down after riding a while.

It has been quite hot in Texas as of late and when it has been 100 I have had to turn it down after 10 mins. This Car has the best ac of any new car I have ever had. You can hang meat in that thing after 10mins. lol

I'm glad I seen this thread. Mine feels as though it works really well on some days (having to turn it down like others), then other days it's lacking.... I have no idea what the deal is.

Also, this is the HOTTEST car I've ever had! And I don't mean just the looks.....this thing holds the heat like no other....lol. I need my A/C on damn near every day!!!

three things:
1. there is a recall for evaporator freeze up, they need to reprogram something.
2. if no puddle under car, some cars had drain tube kinked when it goes through grommet above transmission, they have to partially lower trans. to check.
3. max a/c, check owners manual, must be on max, to left of blue dot and fan speed above II to work.

Don't understand yet but had mine checked and they said everything was fine, and vents were blowing 42 deg air, and yes now it works just fine.

I do and the AC has worked a treat so far, in fact most of the time the fan is only to the first notch. Always keep it on recirc though.
