Can you get a replica of that bird, maybe made out of plastic? I can think of dozens of practical jokes I could do with one or two "decoys".

Then put the videos on YouTube. Man, this could be a new career for some jokester.

I live in Florida and have never heard of this law and I've lived here my whole life (49 years). Either way, it would have been a dead bird and i would have fought the ticket if I received one in court.

really? im 21 and ive heard of it. There are alot of animals in FL that u can get in a LOT of trouble for disturbing or killing.

well, I know that there are animals that are protected and your not allowed to intentionaly harm in Florida, sea turtles, gopher turtles, mocking birds to name a few but was not aware of this one. I still think you could go to court and fighht the ticket, it;s kind of hard to avoid hitting it if it comes out into the road right in front of you.

maybe it is a southern florida thing. i mean i went to jacksonville last summer an i didnt see and cranes anywhere.
