As long as you are living at home just smile and agree with your dad, In a couple years you will be out on your own (hopefully) and you can buy anything you want... Just advice that grew up with two brothers that always wanted what they wanted and argued with my dad all the time about it.. I got what my dad was willing to help me out on, and two years later when I moved out I bought me a Camaro...

This is without a doubt the right thing to do. Back in the day my dad, just to make a point perhaps, forced me to to test drive Honda, Hyundai, etc. until we got to the good stuff. I think I even had to drive a Daewoo. All he wants is your mind not to be made up, so act open to everything, it probably doesn't help the situation the more you express how much you want the Camaro.

Just out of curiosity, if you got the Mustang, would it be a 2010 GT, or a 2011 GT with the 5.0?

I'm sorry, but you really have no reason to argue.
A V8 Mustang or Beamer? Both of those are pretty sweet rides, even if they're not Camaro's, and especially when he's paying $15-20k of the price.
My parents gave me $3500 and said "good luck." I spent well over two months looking at all kinds of Camaro's, some really crappy, and some really nice. Every weekend, I was out with my dad to some far away city to look at some decent one.
We finally found one two hours away, and got it for $3600; I had to spot the extra $100, and I thank God every day I have parents who could afford to get me something that great. They could have just as easily put me in some crappy '95 Camry or Civic-God knows the costs would have been cheaper- but they still let me get a Camaro.
Where as this proves as a poor argument as to whining about what car you get, it proves a strong argument for why you shouldn't be whining about what car you get when your dad is paying $15-20k, and when he's even letting you get a V8 at that. My little sixer spits out a whomping 200hp and my insurance is still $1200 a year. A V8 anything will cost upwards of $1600 easily.
I say take whatever he's willing to get you and be happy and gracious that he paid for it.

idk if it will be a 2010 or 2011, and its not that im being ungrateful its just that i dont see where the camaro is a car that is much worse the a mustang or is too big or unsafe. i was just wondering if you guys saw any logic, but in no way an i complaining
