Also over 600 miles on mine and no problems with the Cats. The only issue I have is that on the L99 version the flex pipe allows the exhaust to move too much and it bumps the tunnel brace. (is that flex pipe even necessary?)

GM has one on the auto, but not on the manual...the auto causes more vibration, so the flex was put in there to reduce the wear and tear on the exhaust and everything it is connected to. The fact that it is on the auto and not the manual tells us that it was put there for a reason and is necessary.
Glad to hear you are still happy with your cats!!!

Understood, but the GM one is very stiff, you cant move it even if you clamp the thing in a vise and try to bend it.. I'm just curious why this one has to be so flexible. Just a thought, since it seems to be quite difficult to get the stock resonator to stop hitting the tunnel brace. (probably not an issue with aftermarket pipes since they are smaller than the resonator)

In the aftermarket, we use the shortest 2 1/2" interlock flex pipe that is available. This makes it the stiffest aftermarket flex that you can get. The length will make a difference in the flexibility, along with being interlock. The one we use is the stiffest one available.

I would loosen the band clamps and bolts at the manifold. Give it some wiggle room. Wedge it up in the skid plate area, pushing it up more than it needs to be...tighten everything up, remove the wedge, and you should have enough clearance.

Been there, done that. Even with as much clearance as it can get it has only about 1 inch between the resonator and the brace, it easily moves that far when hitting bumps in the road. I've built an exhaust hanger that works to keep it off there so my problem is fixed. Its just an odd problem to have is all.

Agree 100%...This is the first one we have heard of...if need be, we will make an adjustment to the jig...to this point, this is the first we have heard of this.

How many others have the one for L99 and stock exhaust w/resonator? It seems that combo is the troublemaker.

I assume they would be the same.. Though I believe mine was the first one shipped after the test car. (not sure if they had more than one test L99...)

Hey Steve,

I'm still shopping around but I'm seriously leaning to Solo for the HF cats. One suggestion though..the flash catalog..could be done better in PDF or in HTML better IMHO.

We'll be talking soon

just got my solo's installed this am.
i've got an L99, stock manifold, cai brand cai, corsa catbacks and the solo hi-flow cats now.
the sound is 110% better than just the catbacks and just loud enough at cruise that i don't want any more. just a normal takeoff in traffic sounds awesome...i see why the mileage would be less after a few heavy pedal situations on my way home.

basically i'd say this has been the most gratifying mod i've done yet...and i've done a bunch of em.

oh, and no cel...yet.

on the 20th or 21st i'm having a tune done to the tranny down in tampa by tampa tuning to get rid of that afm crap.

Congrats! Best bang for the buck IMO! Caution though, don't look in the mirror when you get home from a spirited outing cause you may be frightened by the Joker smile on your face that just won't go away!!! I can hear your wife, or mother if your not married, "your face is gonna freeze that way"! Enjoy!
