I just got an email back from them saying that the 2011 cars have their series 90 hardware and that the 2010 cars won't be able to get this.

Yeh first off you should get mobile banking, I work for a bank and it is perfectly safe. A lot safer than writing a check by the way.

While you are allowed your opinion they should be based on some kind of logic. Just because it's new tech doesn't mean someone is going to steal your car if they get your phone. Even if your car was stolen onstar could shut it off and direct the authorities to it!

That is all......

Ever lost a phone or had one stolen? I have.

The average person will have the UN/PW saved in the app and no PW protection for their phone. Loose the iPhone in a mall, kid picks it up, sees the ap. Goes to parking lot to look for lights.

Everyone has their thoughts. This is just not one i am comfortable with.

Correct me if i am wrong but your mobile banking app does not spit out cash from a small hole in your phone does it? It is somewhat safer....... you can x-fer funds between ckng and savings, check balance, pay bills... Can not wire transfer your account funds to western union.

People need to understand the risks and be very careful with this is what I am trying to say.

The fact it is done through OnStar means they do not need to be any where near the car to unlock it.

Well on the one hand I have a 2010 so I should be mad but on the other hand I'm guessing you have to pay that 30 dollar a month fee to use this and its not worth that not even close. I have had this concern every since I seen the technology features on the vault and every feature seeming to be related to onstar and a monthly charge.

That's because iPhone users surf a lot of Pr0n sites.

Good thing they are supporting Android.

Ya I just wrote them an e-mail telling them basically that. There is NO reason for this not to be available on the 2010. I don't expect all new features to be available for the 2010 obviously (like HUD or even the backup sensors I didn't complain about) but this just blatantly shows that GM is solely concerned with attracting new buyers instead of taking care of existing owners.
Why not tell them when they call to renew your subscription that you're not interested because GM doesn't support your car?

A rash of cancellations will get their attention.
