Too bad it's not open to the public. I think several people from work were thinking about dropping by with their kids. Still looking forward to it but seems like it could have been good exposure for the resort and the vendors to not only open it up to the public but maybe even do a little local publicity.

Nobody's planning to swing by the Old Town cruise on Friday night this year? I know there wasn't a huge turnout last year but it was still fun.

All valid however this was never advertised as an open to the public event. Holding the event at an all inclusive resort is very different than it being at a place like a dealership such as last year. The resort "villas" we are renting are actually owned by persons. One of our organizers actually does own a villa in the resort. An open to the general public event would bring in far more people. Where would they park? How do you keep them out of areas they shouldn't be in as they aren't owners or guests? How do we easily account for who is actually a registered rally attendee or their guest? There is a huge list of things to consider by doing that.

Many activities, giveaways and functions for this event would then be open to whomever walked in.

I am sure some will choose to go to Old Town on Friday but, it isn't something we are officially planning.

I'm not complaining, just didn't think it through before I talked it up to my coworkers.

I live about 2 miles from this resort so let me know if there's anything you need help with.

It's all good. Trust me we all certainly understand. It just isn't something we are able to do nor set up to handle.

That said, once we have the official police escorted route available for the cruise. I'm sure there are probably good spots along the 15 mile line for people to at least watch all the cars rolling through. You don't see roughly 85 Camaros cruising along in a single file line everyday .

Once registered you are also free to enter and exit as you wish. Nobodies vehicle is in "lockdown"
Thanks for the info. I didnt think they'd be able to stage the cars to easily come and go in the rally area but I'm glad I was wrong. I'll have to register now.
