Tested just now and I had 9.5 PSI of boost at 7000 RPM. The ported throttle body definitely takes boost away it looks like to me.

Now for the big thing.... HOW CAN YOU GUYS DRIVE WITH THE STOCK PULLEY??!!? It did not have the same neck snapping acceleration like yesterday. Some one might need to do what the Mustang 5.0 Vortech guys are doing and putting a wastegate with a smaller pulley. They are claiming 75 ft-lbs gain with 20 HP without stressing the engine more.

I don't know, I think that would require a blow-thru MAF instead of the stock draw-thru. Would need more tuning skills first.

http://www.teambeefcakeracing.com/to...11mustang.html

Also did a 3rd gear pull like yesterday and I had the same results, boost stopped building at 6500 even though the MAF frequency was increasing. In 2nd gear it didn't do that so that means one thing, the camshafts are not moving fast enough in 2nd gear so they are more advanced, increasing the boost pressure. 3rd gear the camshafts have enough time to retard so more air is getting into the chamber. Only thing I can think of since throttle body and camshaft are the slow moving parts while fuel and spark are fast moving.

Will eventually go back to my 3.48" pulley but I am going to do some datalogs with the camshaft position to see what is going on in 2nd and 3rd gears.

Posting this information for reference since I sometimes go back through this thread to see changes I made.

The camshaft timing could be the reason why I was seeing less boost at the track than on the street, not heatsoak like I originally thought. On the street I usually only floor it from a roll, so the camshafts are in fuel saving mode which is almost 50 degrees from park. The camshafts are more advanced than the commanded timing due to how fast 2nd gear is and thus the intake valve is closing before the optimal time. At high RPM the valve should be closing after the piston is moving back up on the compression stroke due to air having mass and velocity so it doesn't want to stop, increasing the VE above 100%. At the track I launch from idle where the cams are in the park position. At 2000 RPM'S they only need to move 20 degrees, thus can keep up with the requested position. The camshaft is more retarded and closing the valve later, allowing more air to fill the chamber and lowering the amount of boost in the manifold.

Possible tuning will be to retard the intake cam timing a few degrees over the WOT to allow more power but it will increase compression and not allow the engine to rev as freely.

Decided to compile some data in Excel and see a visual representation of what the mods do. The blue line is the stock 3.80" pulley with the cams advanced, causing them to close early. The orange is the stock pulley and stock cam timing, and the gray is 3.48" pulley with stock cam timing.

I don't think the belt is really slipping, I need to look at the MAF frequency and not the boost gauge to really tell. The MAF frequency will jump around, it did it even with no supercharger.

Just a side note....still enjoy reading your posts on this thread, even if you are starting to go above my head a bit lol. But as a programmer, I can appreciate this kind of stuff, and the amount of testing you are doing.

I'm trying to get as much data as possible, will be able to use it when the track opens.

I managed to get my AFR down below 11:1 at 10 psi of boost, so I have the fueling worked out. Best part was that I worked the MAF tables so much that I didn't require any tuning going from the small pulley to the stock pulley. Don't know how much I will share though outside of IPF.

The long term fuel trims do affect the fueling even when negative. Normally only positive is added to PE, but our cars will do both ways. This means that if your fuel tables are not perfect all the way around your car will run inconsistent.

Put the 3.48" pulley back on last night, couldn't take the low boost anymore. Had to replace 5 bolts though since a few were getting torn up and I don't want to go through cutting them apart again.

Tune wise I've adjusted the cams a little more and will be adjusting the timing tables now. The optimal spark table will have to be lowered to where I don't get knock. Just a theory until I can test it on the track but I think it was helping cause inconsistent times. When I'm done I want my times to be within a few hundredths of each other.

Took the Camaro out today for the first time in 2 weeks, got the tires nice and warm and attempted to do a 0-60 run from a standstill. Tires began to spin, backed off and eased into it better and got traction. Car felt extremely great and fast, but the spinning killed my times. Torque Management also hurt me on the 1-2 shift, 0.5 seconds of timing in the negative numbers. But my 2-3 shift was a LOT faster, 0.2 seconds, I adjusted the TM tables a special way and it looks like it worked.

Car feels the way it should with these gears and pulley.

BF Goodrich Sport Comp 2's, stock sizes all around.

This car accelerates like crazy just with a little bit of throttle, just need to get the fuel trims worked a little more.

Now I'm jealous ! Another foot of snow last night and today. I haven't started the car in over 2 weeks. Miss the power but the pro 4x was great fun in the snow this morning.

You guys have been getting hammered with these storms. I feel bad for you because it was beautiful around here today. It was almost hot.

I have to say I'm a little jealous of your snow I love the stuff, maybe not multiple feet but we had pretty much nothing this winter.. I love playing in the 4wd!
