It only took 3 months to finish! Sadly, it still needs work. I'm just happy I came to a temporary halt.

I removed the heat pad from underneath the cover and cut the circle piece out. I filled the area with clear silicon and allowed it to dry using an oil filter box to keep the bowtie part in place.

For the LED ring, I took a clear window blind rod and heated in the oven and shaped it to a 3.75" diameter circle. From there I bought the 2 12" Amber LED strips from Auto Zone and foil taped the strip circle for maximum reflection.

Then I rubbed the underside of the engine cover with alcohol and profusely used electrical tape to hold the ring and the LED strips in place.

After that, I placed the heat pad back in place and plugged it into the hood switch I installed. I used a standard 4-pin trailer connector for power to the lights from the switch.

Thanks for the compliment

Very Nice!!
You have captured the Twin Towers and The Pentagon, would be nice if you can figure out how to incorporate the United Airlines Flight 93 some how.

My Brother works at the Pentagon and was on the roof near the area that the plane hit, 20 min before it hit.
He was inside on the opposite side of the Pentagon watching the Twin Towers burning on TV when the Whole Pentagon shook.

Anyone know how much space there is between the cover and the intake manifold?

I recently painted my llt engine cover white with some spray paint from auto zone but when I opened my hood after a 1hr drive I was surprised by a lot of yellow spots. Any help on how to fix this ?

If the paint is not capable of withstanding the heat from the engine it may cause your problem. You may have to bite the bullet and strip the paint off and redo.

I went with paint from www.Automotivetouchup.com/ , pricey but well worth the cost. I also used paint adhesioner for plastic prior to the paint and then clearcoat after the paint. I've had it installed now for a month and looks as good as the day I painted it.
