Be patient, your car will get here.
With the deepest respect, you are a mod on this forum, why should I believe you over the CS agent working at GM?

Also, two months for QC, whos doing it, someones grandpa?

fellas im in the army and we live with this all the time. We know when a deployment is coming, and when we are suppose to come home. But dont matter what there are always rumors and people stating things even COL and Generals. The thought we take or say is "dont beleive anything till you get on the plane." case in point I was given a two week time fram to leave for Iraq in 2007 then a week. My flight changed three different days in that week. So take the same attitude with this car.

hes right you cant beleive what people customer support says, they dont have anything to do with production, that or they are given some pre-scripted response that could be a month old. U just cant beleive everything people tell you or what you read. and if you think GM is going to personally keep every person who ordered updated your probably wrong.

Yes, I agree that the way they're doing this is, is not the best way, but cars are being delivered nonetheless.
Look at Trent(trm) if you don't believe me. I told him the exact same thing after having his car built for over 2 months, and two weeks later he got his car.

It's all part of the new car building and shipping process.

I will have to agree with you on that.... I was calling GMCS every week before they said that they were definately going to build the camaro trying to find out if/when they were going to build it. Well I got this one guy.. dont remember the name because what he told me just blew my mind and was really excited. The guy said that they were making it and it should be available late summer/early fall... I asked if he meant it would be available to order or if they would be on the lots by then and he said they would be on the lot. telling me what they would have and the options and such... I will not say what they told me because it would be a big uproar but needless to say i was then he asks for my address so he could send me a poster of the camaro and a mouse pad.. I was pretty excited about it and told me I should have it in 2-3 weeks and I should go to the chevy site and sign up to win a camaro which I did right after.... well a month later nothing.. I call back and tell the girl what had happened and she said that they did not send out posters or anything and she did not know of anything about any release for that summer or that year. She did apologize and asked for the guys name and told her I could not remember.......

anyway Matrix I wouldn't worry too much about it.. Im sure you will get yours before then. Just keep the faith and vent if you want its cool

I feel you on that one. We had more rumors than we knew what to do with when we were in Iraq. But on the flip side, i surely didnt pay to go to iraq, but i did pay for this car. So it huts a bit more when you suport a company and get crapped on. I have had pretty good luck so far but i feel bad for the others that are not so fortunate.

Wouldn't you think GM would send the "pre-order" customers that are waiting on their cars a letter stating what's holding up their vehicles or a simple phone call. We didn't let them hold our money we put down just to be ignored. Why in the world did we "pre-order anyways- Could of waited for a 2011 car and got GMS discount. They can and should show us a little respect.

Vin #6655 2SS/RS 6 spd. manual, sunroof, ground effex.., Yellow, Black interior, Rally Stripes (Q.C. since 4-30) waiting and waiting and waiting

I'm not saying I'm right. and it's not just one example.
I mentioned trm because he was one of the ones that had to wait the longest.
I'm basing my opinions off of patterns that I've seen. Not just one example, but the the whole forum.

That would be possible, except that it doesn't easily explain why some cars ago to QC and some don't. If parts are missing on the assembly line, how can VIN 7999 go to QC, but 7998 and 8000 do not?

If I had to guess..... and really, that's what we are all doing because there aint no f_ _ king information comming from GM:

(1) There have been several quality control issues affecting a high proportion of the cars comming off the line. Say 10-15%.

(2) With around 11,000 produced, that means about 1100-1650 cars have hit AREA 51. With new QC issues still arising and old ones unresolved, more keep comming.

(3) GM didn't anticipate anywhere near this many would fail inspection. They are not equiped to handle the situation. With Chapter 11 and other issues on the horizon, GM doesn't have the resources to ramp up repair efforts.

(4) Thus, the process of repairing these cars is going painfully slow. Example: if the average repair time is 3 hrs per problem per car (allowing for transport time, etc.), assuming 1 1/3 average problems/car, that's just 2 repairs per day per service bay. How many service bays are working on the problems? Ten? Maybe not even that many.

(5) So at 2 X 10 = 20 cars per day repaired, it will take 85 days just to get to the cars already in AREA 51. That's about a 3 month delay on average.

So, for those of us in AREA 51: optimism is cheap, but reality may be we're in for a long, long, long wait. I really hope I'm wrong.
