Yeah, that's from start of concrete to end of concrete.

So, you might be able to go balls out for half a mile but then you've got less than a half mile to shut down.

Please be careful out there!

As it was told to me, there is about 400-500 feet to get up to 60 mph at the same time staying even with the other car... When the light turns green you hit it for 1500-1700 feet then have 2000 ish feet to shut it down... I'll be dumping the laundry... On high boost passes I'm hoping to be over 200 at the finish... The mile has right at 3000 feet to shut down...

If I go far enough there is a big water trap to stop me...

Thanks and I will be careful...

My car decelerates faster after letting off after say 1/2 or 1km than it accelerates getting there ! lol
And that's without even hitting the brakes. I dont even touch the brakes until around 150mph, decel from wind resistance and engine braking is already fairly substantial

So as long as you have sensible tyres/brakes on the car a chute should not be needed except in an serious emergency

So, a decision has been made to change the throttle body out for a mechanical throttle body. While the new TPIS unit was fine at wide open throttle, there were myriad issues with low speed driveability.

The gas pedal assembly has been pulled and the old/new throttle body as well.

We ordered a piece of 5/8 inch thick phenolic that is 12 inches by 12 inches. We will build a spacer to clear the cable cam at the plenum housing.

After this is completed and the car is tuned for low speed stuff, we will be on to discover what it'll take to fix the shifting issue. Time will tell on that...

Any ideas what the problem was ?

Was the blade not tracking what was requested or something ?

Presumably difficulty shifting might be clutch dragging or something ? Kind of hard to look in there at 9000rpm to see what's going on though !

As it was told to us the mechanical throttle body is easier to tune for low speed when using ProEFI...

As for the shifting... Yes we have broken ground with this build again. Apparently no one else is spinning one of these to 8000+ rpm...

We talked with George at Rockland Standard Gear and they had the same problem with the twin disc clutches on the Mustangs when they started running them to 7500 rpm. They discovered the problem by cutting a window in the bell housing and mounting a high speed camera looking in.. When depressing the clutch the discs were actually cupping away from each other and overpowering the synchros... So in a word yes they were dragging.

Now there are four discs to deal with. We have verified the air gaps as required by RPS. We spoke with RPS and Rob said there is the older and the newer version of the quad disc. The older one had a dual hub and the newer version had a single hub. He stated if it's the dual hub he would swap it out. Rob the mechanic in our shop is pretty damn sure ours is the newer version. So we are going to deal with the throttle body first and then make some pulls and see if we can determine a method to shift it or pull it and send the clutch back and see if Rob at RPS can increase the air gap or determine if there is another problem.

One thing we can do with ProEFI is program a no lift shift that will substantially reduce the RPMs and still maintain some boost.

Time will tell...

No shifting issues at low RPM?

Modern throttle by cable... interesting... still need TPS for signal tho, right?

No, low speed shifts are not a problem. Other than the one time at the 1/2 mile event and I think that was a fluid problem...

Yes there is a TPS indicator that provides a signal.

And, during further searching and digging, we discovered conclusively my clutch is the older dual hub design. If you look inside the center of the attached picture you can clearly see the dual hubs. We spoke with Rob at RPS and he gave us some things to investigate before we tear it down, and some things to check as we tear it down but he wants the clutch back to inspect it and we told him we want the new single hub design back. He was great about it and is going to take care of us.

I love working with great vendors that care and are willing to go the distance...
