I know how you feel ---- I'm in Tx and the dealership I placed my order with ( oct. 13, 08 ) can't find my car!!!! They called GM and are being told that the car is at the Rail Depot in IL. I have a friend that works for Southern Pacific Railway and he checked on some infor for me. I told him my Vin # 7474 and the information I got back was that the car is in San Antonio at the Kirby Rail Depot AND has been there since 5/15/09 .We then go over to the depot and was able to check out the lot for the car-- There were plenty of Camaros about ( 40 ) but not MINE!!!! So I go to the the Dealership ( about 3 hrs ago ) with this information and the person that orders new vehicles made a call to GM and right there in front me on speaker phone the GM Rep told her the car was in IL.--Even after she gave him the infor I had--- She then calls the trucking co. that delivers for them and was told they had NO record of it that it was with the railway-- That car is less than 10 miles from me --- It's SO close YET so far away--- AJ

Ok, just checking Milk.

I'd have to agree with Milk though, if they put ALL Camaro's on hold until August that would be a diaster. The media would have a field day, tons of dropped orders...and of course with GM's ever-approaching June 1st bankruptcy possibility...oh boy.

There are an alarming number of Camaro's on hold though...

understanding and respecting where you're coming from, but....................do the math!

i'll say it again, if anyone who ordered a Camaro thought for one second things like this wouldn't/couldn't happen................you're nuts! this is a 1st model year design!

Now you see why someone from GM HQ should address this issue. EVERYONE of us whose car IS built and are waiting (Mine was built 8 weeks ago)has EVERY RIGHT to Bit#h, Whine or whatever! GM called the house today and said my rep at the call center was off and I should keep in contact with my dealer. I get more info on this forum than he gets from GM. They also said I may get it this week. Why can't someone give an honest straight answer? If there were a hold on parts, why are they still making the identical cars and shipping them? How can #85XX be delivered and #13XX isn't. Those that don't like to hear us bit#h, just scroll past, I'll wait til it gets here, but, until GM has the GUTS to get the true reason out, I'll bit#h, whine and complain!

Right now the way the world economy is going U need to just stick to the order and get the car cause no one knows what the future will hold.

Right now the vette, the charger, the challenger factory lines are silent and lights out. (just to make a point how serious the sports car industry is in the crapper).

So get this car and never let anyone take it away from you.

Hey Matrix, i understand your rant, you have every right to be mad. But i dont think what they said was right.
I mean, Canadian Camaro anf Black 67 got their cars, others have too. We preordered early as well. I think they just got the QC hold thing confused.
It makes no sense.

Battery cables weren't the only thing in need of attention. One of the first 5K VIN's produced? The culprit is likely as simple as three words.... power steering pumps, plus three more words... out of stock.

MATRIX!!!!

customer service reps are a dime a dozen. i dont care how big the company is, customer service reps on average would never truly have the kind of knowledge they are feeding you and it be 100 percent accurate. my bet, at best she/he told u fragments of what he/she has heard, and came up with the story she/he is telling you. if you call two more separate times, dont mention you have talked to anyone else and ask the same questions i guarantee you get different answers.

What does that have to do with someone off the street getting their cars BEFORE someone who BLINDLY supported GM despite the bankruptcy looming and supporting them financially and morally. WHY SHOULD SOMEONE GET THEIR CAMAROS OFF THE CAR LOT BEFORE A PREORDERED ONE. WHY!!!

Please... let us gather together in prayer.

Our fbodfather, who art in GM, halo's be thy lights,
Thy Camaro come and thy will be done on streets as it is on race courses.
Give us this day our daily drivers and forgive those Rusty rides that try and Challenge us.
Lead us not into ricing and deliver us from red and blue lights.
For Camaro is the king of roads, with all the power and the styling,
Forever and ever
Amen.

I have a simple question just throwing this out there. Since the pre-order guys are getting the bone why not just cancel it and try your luck on getting one from a dealer right now if u cant wait or re-order. From what everyone is saying the pre-orders are low man on the totem pole which seems wacked imo.
Personally if it was my business i would have been taking care of the pre-orders first then rentals/show room cars next then all new orders last. Honestly i feel sorry for u guys but i hope in 2 more months u guys will get your cars.
