Well long story short, engine pulled over the rev limiter at some point...probably at the drag strip, had some piston to valve contact that caused some lifter failure and excessive wear on the cam lobes. It probably also began to shear the pin on my single bolt cam. Could've happened two months ago. Anyway, started it up the other morning, pin on the cam must've finally sheared off all the way and so she jumped timing on me bent all the valves and here I am now.

Sent the heads to Lloyd Elliot to get ported and reworked with some Manley proflo valves, got a bigger cam fixing to go in, new lifters, a fast lsxr intake, and the rest of that stuff I mentioned before. Once I get it all back together I'll be happy to go cruise around with ya! You out here in Bartlett?

yea that sounded expensive before I even finished reading lol. Sorry to hear that man, and Im not far from barlett. I stay out east but you can normally catch me all around town. I'm just deciding what I'm going to do to my Z. I cant decide what to do, I want cosmetic mods but I want performance mods . Have to travel out of town for shops because I get trash talk for dynospeed as a shop here

If you want local performance work done, I recommend the guys I use. If you pm me I'll get you in touch with them. If you don't mind traveling a bit, I'd recommend going to rhino79 over at GPI in Jacksonville Arkansas. He's great, only one I trust relatively nearby to tune my car.

Yea I've gotten recomendations for a guy in Smyrna as well from another owner of a ZL1 here. I just dont wanna screw up my Z by doing the wrong guy.

Try being without your SS for months... Luckily the light at the end of the tunnel is near for me.
