I have not tried getting in to the settings through the dial-er yet. I will look at that.
So far I have only used the plain EQ app. That only has base and treble. I do not have the Boston acoustic system so I don't know if that changes what you would want to use.
I have found that my Bluetooth does not show that it is connected until I use it in some way. However, even when the Bluetooth does not look like it is on if a call comes in it comes through the head unit.

The more I play with this system and figure stuff out, the more I like it. Feels like it is pretty plug and play from the hardware standpoint, but then there is lots of tweaking to do to really get enjoyment out of it.
I hear you. The volume on mine is crazy high. One little step turn on the volume knob (next to min/mute) is normal, one more is loud, one more is super loud/distortions (at only three little turns from mute, about 5% of total scale).

Yeah, looks like it's not using pre-amp signals. It uses amplified signal to the BA amp that will amplify even more... Some members said there is a setting to program the unit for the systems that have a BA amp, just wasn't able to get in the settings, yet. Tried the ##210400## but did not do anything for me...

The new 4.0 to get to the settings you go to the settings icon, then factory settings. From there enter the password 0000, then a couple thing:
#1 if u got the high resolution you want to change that to HD in shipping setttings
#2 in the canbus settings switch to HICES that may fix the popping but I don't have a BOSE.

Doing this on my phone so it doesn't want to cooperate

Which is the high resolution? I've only seen 1024x600.

I suspect my trouble with iGo is I used the Middle East update as Lim told me. Obviously why all my maps are from the middle east. I was able to get maps forbthe US but it is a read only file so I cant paste them over. Hmmmm, wonder how I can explain that to Lim without a loss in translation.

I'm really fimiliar with IGO navigation software. Each map software file has a license number assigned to it that is keyed to the SDID number on the mapping SD card that the mapping software is loaded on to. It prevents you from doing what you are trying to do, transfer mapping software to another card without buying a valid license for the 2nd SD card.

What about to transfer from one card to a larger card? Is that possible?

Yes. I moved all my files to a 32gig card and put that in the unit. Works great.
